Stopped in for a mid-day drink. Love the painted cinder block decor. Reminds me of a Caribbean cantina. Wasn't expecting to find a group of women Lions fans. Go Lions!

Dropped into Bernie’s after a tip from someone who works at Tim Horton’s Field for a quick bite and beers before the Forge FC game. Great local spot with a genuine feel. Food took awhile to arrive. The pizza was excellent, but my meatball sandwich was just ok.

It’s been some time since I’ve been to Bernie’s and wanted to give it another go. Was very disappointed to say the least. When we arrived, we waited a fair amount of time to be seated but they were busy and that’s ok. We were hoping for a patio spot but was told none were currently available, however we could sit inside and then move once a spot opened up. We were seated in the corner, received water and menus and never saw anyone again. A group that arrived after us received a table on the patio. We sat for 15 minutes and never had anyone ask if we wanted anything to eat or drink. Other tables were getting refill beers. It was busy and I get that. Lots of open picnic tables on the patio but it seemed like they were slow to turn over the ones that were occupied. It must have been a staffing issue but a good way to not make money is to not wait on your customers.

I really like their smash patties. The service it's very hard working, and the staff are very friendly. This is a great pregame spot during the home games!

Thursday Combo was a great choice! :)
Dropped in today for the burger/fries beer special. The buns forsure frozen and grilled quick - super soggy gross cold wet bun with unseasoned burger meat woohooo and a toss of overcooked unseasoned fries as well lucky me… service also kinda sucked like where are the waitresses lol… seems like they don’t wanna be at work.

A bunch of us came here for a birthday dinner. I made a reservation, mentioning 2 of us had celiac and can't handle gluten. We had nachos, fish tacos, and steak, and they all disappointed. The kitchen was out of a bunch of stuff, including chicken and GF-buns, so the celiac people could only really eat the nachos, which had a gross cheese sauce. Despite only 4 or 5 tables having customers, the service was the slowest I've ever had in Hamilton. Given how many great food spots are in Hamilton, I doubt any of us will ever recommend Bernie's
