Recently had lunch with a friend at Planted. I hadn't eaten at that restaurant since they were at their previous location, pre-covid. Back then I had some underwhelming meals there and wasn't in a rush to go back. Although they did make the most amazing Teramisu!! Anyhow, went back recently at their new location, which was a very cool space! High ceilings, open concept, in an old church. Their new menu has less options than I recall them having before. Honestly, not much caught my eye. I ultimately decided to order the "Ceasar Wrap" which came with fries. The fries were the high light of that meal. The Ceasar wrap had chunks of tofu that were very bland, if it was marinated before frying it was undetectable. There was barely any lettuce in the wrap and I ended up pulling out half of what was in it anyways because it was wilted and gross looking. I actually thought they forgot the ceasar dressing because I didn't taste any, had to ask for more. The Laffy flat bread was sadly the best part. Overall, the meal was mediocre at best. My friend got the "Mac and Cheese" but from what I could see it just looked like oily noodles with some grilled veggies. The service was good, staff were friendly. I got a few donuts to go and a mocha latte which was tasty. They do have quite a selection of baked goods. I got an apple fritter and a Carrot Cake donut, they were ok. But, in retrospect I kinda wish I had gone up the street to Donut Monster instead. I definitely won't be in a rush to eat at Planted again. Maybe some of the other items on the menu are good, but I'm more interested in trying a different vegetarian/vegan resto then I am to go back there for another underwhelming meal.

Wonderful food and excellent, friendly service. The pickle chips and dip are amazing and came in a surprisingly large quantity. Meals came quickly and were perfect. Will definitely come back when visiting Hamilton again.

I just adore this place. From the minute you walk in you feel so welcome with staff shouting it from behind the counter. The full menu is safe for me and as a vegan celiac, this is such a blessing. I don't have to ask a million questions because they know and tell you all of the allergens that are present. We shared a plate of nachos, which was delicious, and got an apple fritter and a piece of strawberry cake to go. I also bought a piece of laffa bread and fried tofu to have for breakfast tomorrow.I highly recommend you go here and enjoy everything as much as we do!!Bonus points for being a safe space for the rainbow family!!! ?️‍?❤??????️‍?Vegetarian options: Everything is vegan!!Dietary restrictions: Everything is gluten free and they let you know of any allergens presentKid-friendliness: There were two wee ones there while we were there. They have high chairs and the staff were wonderful with helping.

So nice to be able to eat somewhere and not have to ask if anything was celiac-safe! Would 100% go back for the pickle chips and cruellers.

I would not go back or recommend. I had a lentil burger here with grilled vegetables on the side. The bun was stale and COLD, as if it had been sitting in the fridge for a while and they just took it out and served it. How hard is it to serve a proper bun for a burger? the dressing was just a ton of overly sweet ketchup. The portion size was small. The grilled veggies, were 7 single small thin short slices of vegetables that looked like they had been dipped in oil and then thrown in a pan, under seasoned, and greasy. I can say without a doubt, this was the lowest quality meal I have had on Locke St to date. and to think this was a birthday lunch! And they kept us waiting for 15 minutes to be seated when there were 7 available tables. Overall poor quality service and low quality food.

We had chosen Planted in Hamilton as the food catering option for an event that my organization was hosting. The service and experience that we received was exceptional. Emily went above and beyond to ensure that all of our needs were met. On behalf of the ISC, thank you Emily and the team at Planted!

We drive 40 min to get to Planted. When we first visited Planted they were at their old location. We were pleasantly surprised by their Thai Bowl and the rest of the menu. My very picky, non-vegan son even declared his burger as the best one he ever had. Then they moved, changed their menu for the worse and after the dismal experience this weekend I don't think we will ever go back. We arrived 1:25 pm and were told that we can only order from the brunch menu. Not a problem except that they didn't have waffles, pancakes, smoothies, espresso, and can't make decaf coffee. 20 minutes into waiting for our food, we were informed they couldn't do half of what we ordered. It took them 30 minutes to serve our food and there were only 4 other tables occupied at that time. I love good, healthy food and where they were once my go to restaurant, it is just not worth it anymore. Hopefully other guests will have better experiences.

Compliments to the chef holy smokes. I got the eggplant fish and chips and I was blown away. This dish should be famous for being gluten free and vegan. I can’t believe I had never been there. Also great staff.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free and vegan.
