Our 1st visit to the Purple Pear. Although dated inside, i can't say anything bad about the food or the service. The food was cooked to perfection, and not everyone can get seafood cook well. They did. Flavorful and well plated. Vegetables were lovely as was the chicken I had. Our party enjoyed the chicken and seafood in a creamy white wine sauce, salmon and chicken and mushroom Linguine. Nice portionnsize and enough to take home. A must try.

Always a pleasant dining experience at the purple pear.
We went to Purple Pear for a weekend dinner based on the nice reviews about the however food and service. The moment we got in we had a rather cold welcome for our initial seating. We felt very much like we were unwanted people there. No one smiles, and it felt like it was quick to get us out of the way with minimal service. It would be fine but for seeing other customers there that were getting a different, more friendly welcome. Could see owner and servers be friendly and go and talk to most of them. The food itself was good, and our server who took over our table was also very nice. But others seemed to have different attitude. I didn't feel comfortable and don't want to spend money in that place again.

We have gone there many times and always enjoyed the experience. This time was different. There were 7 of us and we had 5 different servers…. none communicating with the others. I can understand assistance bringing meals to the table but this was ridiculous PLUS service was SLOW AND NOT ATTENTIVE. Chicken parm was served with veggies and Alfredo sauce on the pasta. Not appropriate. Other meals were good but the general experience was not great.

Was amazing it’s been awhile since we came here the first time and fell in love with the restaurant as a whole. We finally found time to come back tonight and we’re so happy and full after. Food amazing service amazing our cups never went empty. Hopefully we’ll be back soon also love the environment

My parent love this restaurant and since we live in Bobcaygeon this was our first time enjoying this wonderful restaurant. Service was amazing and the food excellent. From the bread assortment (made in house) to our meal amazing. Our group enjoyed the French onion soup, seafood chowder for starters then to the rack of lamb and steak with lobster. All were cooked to perfection. Then to the tiramisu and the Frozen Lemon Soufflé for desert

First impressions mean a lot.When we came to the door to get in, I was glad we finally got there because I was sure we would get mugged on the way to the door. The reason we went there was because we heard on a Hamilton radio station 2 announcers, saying how wonderful it was. And yeah, they used to go there a long time ago and one of them went back and said it was just as they remembered well, I listened to them and we found it was highly Overpriced The French Onion Soup leaves a lot to be desired. There was so much pastry on top that it became a great big blob, uh, of Moist bread, we were all very disappointed with it. I ordered an Italian dish and what came with it. I couldn't believe it, seasoned vegetables. Now, what Italian dish comes with seasons vegetables on the side? On your plate beside pastas and chicken. I won't recommend
