đJust stopped at this place for a dinner..
The limited available space and layout options do affect the overall ambience feel..so your the best choice here is to get seatings around the bar, but that area offers mostly tables for 2...I was not able to explore fully this dining place, but there might be another area at the back, possible a party room.
đŽđ· Food was a 'hit and miss' kind of thing. First, the portions are relatively small, more like appetizer size plates.
The biggest disappointment was the red beet salad, followed by not exactly well seasoned and prepared lamb shank.
The lasagna was OK, but for those used to the more original Italian flavors, even this plate will leave them with desiring more.
The pork dish they call a âtrio of porkâ was again just fine, but the quality of the pork cuts were not premium and the beans base was more of a âcanned beansâ nature than a chefâs prepared seasoned bean base.
?! If people around the table compliment most a simple, yet colorful plate covered with spreaded olive oil mixed with chives, parsley, honey, crashed red chilli pepper seeds and a whipped feta cheese served with grilled pieces of baguette breadâŠthat might paint the picture of our experience on itâs own?!
đOur table was served wellâŠ.with very good attention to detailsâŠ.thank you for thatâŠso we were served well, but the presented food need some work IMHO.
The noise level was low enough to have a good conversation at the table at the time of our dinner.
I would like to thank the person who served our table. He was the reason we left satisfied even though the served food was a âhit- and- missâ  for us.đ€

We had travelled from Toronto for a beautiful date at a new restaurant try.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a nice laid back upscale vibe, great choice of music to tie it all together.
The 4 dishes we tried included the Chicken Liver Brulee (signature dish), Beet Salad, Thai Stuffed Wings & Trout Marie Katherine. All the fishes were mind blowing with the different layers of flavor and contrast of texture.
The service was below subpar as it was mentioned that I had a lactose sensitivity but most dishes still had a dairy in them as the server mentioned the chef can make alternative substitutes. Also, we asked the server if we could get some extra bread and 10 minutes passed and nothing came out. So we reminded him again, it came out buttered and toasted sadly.
We definitely will come back for the food and hope to have better service then! We look forward to the summer menu, what date will that be released?

The food is good but the portion sizes are really small. I had the 10 layer lasagna which youâd think would be a hearty meal but not when they only give you a 3/4 â slice. The entrees are barely appetizers.
Thank you for your late reply but we each ordered cocktails, salads, appetizers, entrees and desserts and were still hungry. Not sure how much more someone needs to spend for a meal to be satisfied. We did tell staff that we were disappointed but they didnât do anything to address our disappointment

Pretentious, disappointing, an insult to the original location on John St. Itâs such a shame to see this place ruin its good name.
We overpaid for tiny portions of subpar food. $30 for a skinny slice of dry lasagna (nothing special), $45 for sliced up filet mignon (who slices it up like that? The poor beautiful steak!) mangled over bland potato mash. Bland bland bland. Everything needed salt. We were all shook when we saw how tiny the portions âfor sharingâ were. Everyone is allowed one bite basically.. youâd think this place had a Michelin star based off their pricing and portion size. Sorry to say but menu is over ambitious, too complicated and the kitchen cannot deliver.
If you want to leave hungry and spend a lot of money, pay this place a visit. If you are looking for somewhere with soul in the food and value, go to Caro or Bread Bar, donât waste your time here.
First visit, ordered 2. Cocktails and 4 food items - crispy calamari, Thai stuffed wings, and the lobster and shrimp Capelletti were all good. The last item was spiced potato croquettes - and it was terrible - cold, tasteless, oily (over fried).
The cocktails were the best part !
We will give them another visit.
Parking: Have to revist to give it a 2nd shot.

Thank you to Rapscallion for a wondering evening with friends. They did their Pigs Head dinner for us and everything was delicious. The appetizers (Whipped Feta, Chicken Liver Brûlée, Spicy Calamari) were also amazing. The service was attentive and on point. Daryl did a wonderful job. It was a memorable experience for us and we appreciated every second of it.

Was downtown Hamilton for a conference last week and popped in on my way home, and I am so glad I did. Gorgeous interior and back patio. Great chicken sammy and craft beer selection. Both the host and server were fantastic. Thank you for ensuring I try your whipped feta before I left, what a treat that was! I will be back!

All the hype about the whipped feta IS WORTH IT! Probably the best feta I've ever had, with the hot honey being a standout flavour. Even the bread that comes with it is exquisite: crispy and delicious.
The ambience was eclectic and interesting, cosy without being cramped. Our server provided excellent descriptions of the dishes, and was attentive and happy to give recommendations. I would whole heartedly recommend the place!

WHIPPED FETA! This app is a must if you dine here. The rockerfeller oysters were delightful, too.
The way to go is just to order a bunch of the apps and drinks versus the main dishes. The service was great.

Absolutely fantastic. We went a few months ago during Brunch and tried the whipped feta and the chicken and waffles. Both were amazing. My husband has been craving that whipped feta for months so we finally found some time to go again, this time for dinner. We got the whipped feta, calamari, the seared duck breast with mushroom risotto and the lobster & shrimp cheese cappelletti. Everything was amazing, we had some leftovers and even those were good the next day. the calamari breading was a little on the softer side than what I prefer but it was still delicious. That was my first time trying duck and I think that'll be the thing I order again if they have it when I go back! 10/10 would recommend. I didn't take photos of the duck and lobster dishes as by that point it smelled too good to wait to eat it ahaha pics are whipper feta, spicy calamari and Miami Vice drink!

Rapscallion & Co. in Hamilton is nothing short of a culinary gem. From the moment you step inside, the ambiance exudes a charming mix of modern elegance and cozy warmth, setting the perfect tone for an unforgettable dining experience.
The star of the show here is undoubtedly the food. Every dish is crafted with an impressive attention to detail, showcasing both creativity and a deep understanding of flavor. The menu is diverse, offering something for everyone, yet each option feels like a thoughtful addition rather than an afterthought.
The highlight of my meal was the beautifully plated mains, where each ingredient complemented the others perfectly. The flavors were bold yet balanced, with every bite leaving you eager for the next. Even the sides and smaller plates were standouts, full of surprising twists that elevated traditional ingredients into something truly special.
Service at Rapscallion & Co. is also commendable. The staff are knowledgeable, attentive, and clearly passionate about the food they serve. Theyâre more than willing to offer recommendations and ensure your experience is nothing short of exceptional. Huge shout out to Steven for making our visit a memorable one. He went beyond and was an outstanding host.

Weâve been here for both the seafood boil and dinner. Iâm still relishing the unique, rich, bold flavours of every single dish, honestly one of the best dinners Iâve had. The whipped feta was soooo good. The braised ribs, bone marrow and lobster shrimp cappelletti were melt in your mouth amazing. All the desserts were fantastic too. To top it off the hospitality was genuinely unmatched, theyâre really invested in making sure you enjoy the experience. You can tell this is a place that really prides itself on exceptional service. Big kudos to Steven the assistant general manager who was so approachable and attentive!! If youâre a foodie, you need to give this place a try. Highly recommend, will definitely be back.
