A lovely little spot, my sister in law is obsessed with the pancakes, the coffee is great, the breakfast is delicious. There is just never anywhere to sit- ever. So don't go hungry, write your name down, and stroll downtown until they call you for a free table.

Our first visit to Saint James was a total win! Jamie was incredibly friendly and helpful. We ordered The Drive Thru (Amazing!) and The Malibu sandwich was excellent. We asked for the English muffins to be toasted extra, and they did it perfectly. The homemade fries were so tasty, and the Phil & Sebastian’s coffee was delicious.
They have a great brunch menu, we will definitely be back! ☕️

i don’t understand the appeal. I’ve tried this place over a dozen times over the years thinking maybe it’s gotten better? But it doesn’t get better. You wait in line to order, unsure if you should: read the menus while they are clipped to the wall or take the menu down and get a table. You pay and tip before eating. Sometimes you order food and are stuck waiting for a table, unsure if you’ll get one before your food is ready.
More than once I haven’t received my coffee while sitting on the patio… even though I paid for it and tipped in advance, and reminded the server.
The tables are bent (bowed) so they feel uncomfortable. The seating arrangement leaves you in the middle of the room, very close to the line of people waiting for seats.
And my biggest thing is: the menu doesn’t change. For years. Everything has bread. It doesn’t feel inclusive for dietary restrictions.
Saving grace: the Drive Through breakfast sandwich to-go is the move to make.

WOW. Came here with some friends for breakfast and it was unbelievably good. The food is made with love and it shows! Very small space so going with more than 3 people might have been a challenge but we got lucky and there was no wait! Highly recommend

I was craving avocado toast this morning and my algorithms suggested the Saint James Espresso Bar & Eatery. Thank you Google! To think I've passed this place so many times before and never knew what I was missing. It has an inviting, cozy decor, stellar customer service (shoutout Emma) and the food is absolutely delicious. You can tell the ingredients are top notch. Will I be back again?? Most definitely!! I have my eye on other items on their menu that I want to try.

Visited from vancouver to Hamilton for the first time. This place stood out for breakfast to all my group and we were welcomed and given so many options. I especially requested no egg meal and the server was kind enough to do so for me. I am pretty happy and would recommend it to all of people.

Amazing coffee with some of the most delicious breakfast in the city. Their hashbrowns are absolutely awesome and all their breakfast options, while traditional, are elevated and tasty. If you're looking to sit down though, be prepared to wait or come at a quiet time as there is very limited seating. Enjoy!

Cute little place to I go for breakfast or brunch.....or just for a nice long chat with a friend over a delicious cuppa whatever coffee or warm drink you like. It seats around 20 and has table options. Some for that quiet chat, some to be on you own facing the side window and some on the community table if you want to share your space. Food was fresh and tasty. You order and pay at the order area, then go to your table where they will serve your food when it's ready. Parking is side street with a little walk or pay at the street parking meters. Would go there again with a friend to chat with a cappuccino in hand and baked good.

Ordered a take-out BLT on suggestion of a co-worker. Price seemed a bit high until I saw how much bacon was on my sandwich! Homemade jalapeno bread, heirloom tomatoes, an entire pig of maple-y bacon, herby mayo; it's messy, it's filling, it's DELICIOUS!
