Beginning was actually decent, toward the end of the meal the rice are extremely soggy, it's literally paste-like, if you plan to go, you should go early where there's not many people to ensure quality

I’ve been coming here since 2018, but my most recent visit was very disappointing. We waited about 20 minutes for the first round of food to come out. Once it arrived, everything was going well. We talked, ate, and enjoyed ourselves.
After being there for almost an hour, we placed another order. Shortly after, our waiter came to the table and asked if we wanted to put in any last-call orders because of the two-hour limit for the all-you-can-eat option. The problem was that we had not been there for two hours yet. I explained that a large portion of our time had been spent waiting on food. After going back and forth, she said it was fine.
We then waited another 24 minutes. A different waiter noticed we were upset, our cups were empty, and there was no food on the table. She apologized, went to the back herself, brought out a plate of sirloin steak bites, and refilled our drinks. I appreciate her for stepping in and trying to make it right.
Even though we were still under the two-hour limit, three waiters stood nearby looking at us and pointing. At that point, I waved them over, asked for the bill, and we left.
After this experience, I will not be recommending this place to anyone anymore.

Really enjoyed this place! Picked up take out for the first time. The rolls were a great size, sashimi pcs were generous, tempura was delicious. Ingredients were fresh. Would definitely recommend and will be back soon.
We have been coming here for 7 years. Best all to can eat sushi place! Authentic Japanese food and fresh sushi. Also, the kids find it fun to order off an iPad.
Love this restaurant.
Food is always amazing.
Their all you can eat buffet has an incredible amount of options from sushi to fully cooked options and vegetarian choices as well.

First visit… and wow.
Sapporo Sushi in Hamilton made a strong first impression—and not the forgettable kind.
From the very beginning, the soups set the tone: comforting, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The mango salad followed with a perfect balance of sweetness and spice—fresh, bright, and thoughtfully seasoned.
What really surprised me was the fried seafood. The shrimp and calamari were cooked exactly right—crispy without being heavy, generous portions, and most importantly, fried in good-quality oil. You can tell when oil is fresh, and this was. Light, clean, and satisfying without that greasy after-feel.
Now, the sushi.
This is where Sapporo truly separates itself from the usual all-you-can-eat experience. The rice was perfectly done, and the fish-to-rice ratio was honestly impressive—generous fish, respectful rice. That alone puts them ahead of many places. Everything tasted fresh and intentional.
Service was another highlight. Orders came out fast, smoothly, and without confusion—even with multiple tables ordering nonstop. Watching the team work was almost fascinating: quiet, efficient, minimal chatter, and clearly excellent internal communication. It’s rare to see an AYCE restaurant run this smoothly.
As for the hot dishes: the steak and salmon teriyaki were good—well cooked and enjoyable—though not my personal favorite compared to others I’ve had. Still solid.
But the real star? Shrimp Satay.
Perfectly cooked, garlicky, flavorful, and addictive. I liked it so much I ordered it twice—and I’d do it again.
Dessert wrapped things up beautifully. The sesame balls were excellent and clearly stood out. There was a nice variety overall, though the “banana” dessert tasted more like plantain, which wasn’t quite my preference—but that’s just personal taste.
A special shoutout to Riya—she was incredibly attentive, always refilling drinks and clearing plates with such a calm and friendly presence. And David, the manager, was genuinely kind and engaged. He took the time to thank us and made sure we were having a great experience, which made everything feel personal rather than transactional.
Overall, this was an outstanding first experience. Great food, fast and thoughtful service, a well-coordinated team, and management that truly cares. Only remark is that the place needs some renovation.
We left happy—and confident this won’t be our last visit.

Good food for a decent price. Happy with big group options available!
Absolutely delicious AYCE sushi with the biggest menu full of delicious nigiri, rolls, sashimi, Thai dishes, and appetizers! Everything was so good that I want to come back and try more off the menu. The service was pretty quick and they were very good about water refills. Every torched sushi is amazing. Will definitely be back.

I’ve been going to Sapporo since 2013, and it’s become my “sushi home” in Hamilton. I almost always order the dinner all-you-can-eat menu because sashimi isn’t included in the lunch menu, and it’s an absolute must! I find all their fish and dishes to be of good quality and professionally served, and they’re open to feedback as well in the few circumstances where I wasn’t completely satisfied. The sushi/sashimi menu is comprehensive, and they include white tuna/butterfish, which many all-you-can-eat sushi houses do not. Their rolls offer a wide variety of selections, and the non-sushi/sashimi menu is also quite comprehensive.
A great place to go—somewhere offering something for everyone! With taxes, it’s just over $40 for the dinner menu, a competitive price in the industry. My only complaint is that they don’t accept Interac, and if you’re paying by cash and don’t have enough on hand, you have to use their ATM, which charges a fee. A bit dubious.
Worth the visit. Offering quality, selection, and good service.

The restaurant was nice and clean and the service was fast and friendly. The fish however was not fresh. I got a Salmon avocado roll, White tuna roll, and a AC (avocado cucumber) roll. The fish didn't taste as good as other restaurants I've been to. There weren't many gluten free rolls to choose from though they did have gluten free soy sauce. The ordering via tablet was kind of pointless since the server had to come and get it and you couldn't add notes to your order via the tablet. The server also tried to get us to leave a 5 ☆ review BEFORE we ate to get the soft drink for free.

This is my go to place for AYCE in Hamilton. It's also cheaper compared to others and their menu has more options too.
Yes, sometimes they forget some orders but that happens a lot too with other AYCE restos as sometimes they're packed! Still, we just give a gentle reminder to our waiter and it will be prepared carefully and to perfection.
High 5 Sapporo and cheeers! 🍻🍻🍻

First time all you can eat there. Although there are much rice in their sushi roles, overall it was great. Taste was good, service was fast and price was reasonable. Willing to visit again

It was late at night around 11pm and after closing, I jus finished consuming their jade bento box and let’s just say it was a hell of a meal. Good portions excellent pricing and the tempura was top notch. Had I been here during the day I would’ve had their AYCE for SURE!!! Would recommend for anyone interested nearby.
