Excellent cocktails & apps (salmon sushi incredible). Gnocchi were delicate & delicious. Half the mussels were not properly open, which we were kindly credited half off for, and the cauliflower had a level of salt that did destroy the dish – literally about 10x too much. Rock salt is problematic as an ingredient, as it delivers more sodium than you can taste, but my mouth was literally puckering because of the saltiness of the dish.

Wow, elegance and flavour, beautifully simplistic atmosphere for a dinner for two. I was blown away by the flavours and textures from each dish.. and I tried half of them lol. You need to eat here, one of the best Hamilton has to offer!! The chef can do no wrong and the staff extremely knowledgeable and friendly! Thank you so much!!!

Service was slow to start (we almost left) and our seat was by a cold draft by the door. We dined later in the night as the kitchen was open late. The two small plates of the adobo chicken and Philipino short ribs were a bit dried out and disappointing. Great selections of wines though and the Oysters were huge!

Always such a great experience overall when we come to Secco. Kenny & Nick (owners) always table touch which I love seeing at establishments. The food is always 20/10 and the service is great! The drinks were incredible. Had one called the Reiah I think and omg it was one of the best cocktails I've had in a LONG time. I hope it says on the menu permanently. Our server was honestly fantastic! I unfortunately forget his name pretty sure he's Portuguese but he was fantastic!

This place really does it all - prosecco, food, drinks. An absolute must stop if you are in Hamilton! The vibe is incredible. The fries and baked brie are so good it should be illegal. If you stop here, you wont regret it! Should also check out the sister resto below - 11:11 for more yummy cocktails.

Wanted to give a big shoutout to all the staff who were working on March 16th! Incredible food, amazing service and a great atmosphere! We had a few people attend to us over our visit and it was simple things like changing out our small plates and cutlery in addition to bringing out our appetizers in courses that really made our night! The timely check ins were appreciated and we will definitely be back!

New favourite place on James South. Food was incredible. Great variety and each dish was tasty and unique, especially waygu tacos. Love the Asian fusion elements. Wine list by glass has some of the best variety of solid and interesting wines in Hamilton.

I LOVE this restaurant. The ambience is perfect, it's not too loud and the cocktails are creative and delicious. I've been twice and every single person who works there obviously cares about what they're doing. Service is exceptional.

Fantastic and attentive service. Great atmosphere. We loved the feature app (Oxtail curry dumplings) so much that we ordered a second round as our main. The custom-made cocktails and mocktail were elegant, delightfully creative, and perfectly complimented our food choices. Overall a great girls' night out.

I really enjoyed my first experience there. We did a birthday brunch and it was beautiful. The steak and eggs was so flavourful. The steak tender and the egg cooked just right. Also the floral mimosa was delicious!

I’ve never written a restaurant review before, but after our experience last night, I had to. There is such a huge discrepancy between the quality of the service here (terrible) and the food (excellent) that we felt the chef should know.We came as a party of 5, to celebrate a birthday. For context, our group is a mix of men and women, ages late 40s - early 60s. We love food, drinks, laughter, travel often, and have had many other amazing dining experiences in Hamilton, as wide-ranging as Rapscallion, Black Forest Inn, Maipai, and wings and beer at Buddy’s Roadhouse… we are not hard to please, lol!The service at Secco was shockingly bad. We had barely settled into our uncomfortable seats (6” too short for the high top table) when our server came over to remind us that we had exactly 2 hours before the next party arrived. He rushed us into drink orders, and continued to rush us all night long. His timing was so bad, it was almost comical…we were trying to celebrate a birthday and have fun, and would be right in the middle of telling a great story or mid-laughter, when he would appear and abruptly and loudly interrupt us. It was so unprofessional.Right from when we arrived, we felt unwelcome and rushed. As prosecco lovers, we’d been excited to try everything, but in the end had only 1 flight each, because we were so rushed. We are a group that normally orders several bottles of wine. With the exception of the great food, everything about Secco feels very amateur, yet still pretentious. The furniture is cheap and looks like it came from Wayfair. Please measure your table heights, before you buy chairs that are so short that even a 6’ tall man can barely get his arms high enough over it to eat.Our overall impression is that they didn’t hire a professional designer…which is something we wouldn’t even have remarked on, had the service been great. But if you’re striving to be a high-class, professional establishment, with prices to reflect that, then you need to put way more effort into your decor and hire some better servers. At the beginning of the night, they’d taken our coats. Upon leaving, our server disappeared without bothering to tell us where they were, and we had to go up to the bar to ask. “Yeah, they’re just outside the door in the hall”. Taking our coats, only to then leave them unattended all night in a freezing cold hallway, wide open to the street? That’s just another indication of the lack of attention to detail that separates a mediocre restaurant from a great one.Based on the other guests, it’s pretty obvious that their main clientele are women in their 20s-early 30s, on a “girls-night-out.” Maybe younger people, who have missed out on almost 3 years of in-restaurant dining during the pandemic have less experience to base their ratings on, but Secco is very, very far from a 5-star experience.

This is one of my fav more fine dining reso’s to go too. They have many vegan options for those with dietary restrictions. The gnocchi is the best pasta dish I have ever had. Period. The price of 35$ might deter you from ordering but please do not skip this dish. You will not regret it.The ceaser is also amazing.
