First visit for brunch with friends and it was very disappointing...no coffee because their coffee machine was not working. The menu and reservation form indicates they have gluten free options and yet they had no gluten free bread/buns, so my eggs benny came without an English muffin. Overall, not a great experience.

I have been wanting to go for dinner to Shys place for so long having heard some great things. I went tonight for my birthday, with my husband and two teenage kids. With the price point we truly expected wonderful things. We were very disappointed. My daughter and I had the steak which was nice, but not anything special and certainly not worth the $54 price tag. My husbands meal was mediocre at best and my sons ‘mac n’ cheese’ with shredded prime rib, was practically inedible. It tasted nothing like mac n’cheese or prime rib. The $17 bottle of wine was priced at $54… the service was ok. The building is lovely! We left, $400 down and feeling ripped off. So disappointed. :(

DELICIOUS!

the food was fantastic, I can't say enough about it. We got every appetizer (excluding ceaser salad) and each one was a 10/10.

I don't like steak, and I hate seafood... but I could have finished the steak bites and calamari on my own! The battering and sauces on both were absolute perfection, I'd try to recreate these dishes at home but I know even with my home-cooking skills I would be disappointed.

My only gripe is the music was loud, but they had a party upstairs so that may have contributed. (This wouldn't have even been something I noticed, but my 4month old was with us and it was hard to hear her babbles)

Great first visit to Shy's Place! Food was delicious from start to finish! I had the garlic parm fries, steak bites & chocolate torte & all were excellent. My dining partner had the banquet burger & said it was fabulous too. I have to eat gluten free & found Shy's on the Find Me GF app - so glad I did as excellent GF options & even a dedicated GF fryer which is rare. Very cool ambience & decor & service was great too. I'll definitely visit again soon & my non-GF friend said the same. Thanks Shy's for offering such terrific GF options - much appreciated!
P.S. And great priced Tuesday Happy Hour food & beverages too!

No place better. From the food to the friendly staff this place is top notch. The look and feel of the place is fabulous, and the history of the decor just adds to the feel.

Perfectly made food..loved the risotto very different than other restaurants. It was filled with variety of different types of items such as warm
Olives, mushrooms, pumpkin seeds….Calamari was made perfectly (usually you find it oily, soggy) but not at this restaurant.

I heard great things about Shy's Place for many years but never got around to going until today.. and I'm so glad I did! I got the Moroccan chicken sandwich and my friend got the buttermilk fried chicken -- absolutely delicious! The server was so attentive and the overall farmhouse vibe of the restaurant was super charming. A great choice to bring your family or meet up with a friend. Would definitely recommend this spot and come back again.

Kid-friendliness: I took my four month old baby and they were super accommodating
They gave us a table with lots of extra space to set the car seat and told us where the washrooms and change table was

My husband and I had our first meal here today. Our experience was fantastic in every respect. My lunch sandwich of Moroccan Chicken was the most interesting, flavourful sandwich I've ever had the pleasure of eating. The garlic parm fries are a generous helping of finger-licking (literally) crispy, tasty perfection. We appreciated the warm and attentive service provided by Spencer. In particular, we were highly gratified to learn from him that all the food at Shy's is made in-house, from scratch, including the pasta. Reservations are highly recommended; we went early on a weekday afternoon and the place was packed. In short, we loved everything about Shy's and look forward to trying their dinner and brunch offerings as soon as we can!

I visited on a Saturday morning, and it was such a treat.
The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming—perfect for starting the day.

I tried their eggs benedict, and it was spot-on! The eggs were perfectly poached, and the hollandaise sauce was rich and creamy.
My friend had the avocado toast with poached eggs, and it was fresh and beautifully plated.
The portions were generous, and everything tasted as good as it looked.

Our server was attentive and made sure our coffee cups were never empty.
Prices are fair for the quality, and the whole experience left me wanting to come back again soon.
Highly recommend Shy’s Place if you’re looking for a delicious breakfast to kick off your day!

Beautiful country home restaurant. The walls are covered with historic news clippings from the Queen, Princess Dianna, Churchill, past president's and sports teams. Lots of memorabilia as well. Floors are old fashion wood. There are a number of smaller rooms so you never feel crowded and could easily hear everyone at the table. The service was great. They were very attentive. The menu was so hard to chose from. Everything sounded amazing. we had a table of 5 people and food came out quickly. Their Calamari was to die for. So fresh and tender. Everyone loved their meal choices. They change their menu regularly and have dishes for the given season. I want to try their weekend brunch as well.

Very happy! They squeezed us in on a Friday, without a reservation. Still didn't feel rushed. Best Scotch sour I've ever had. The peach bacon fettuccine sounded intriguing, and did not disappoint! Never had anything like it. Will definitely be back.
