I ordered a dinner for 4 and placed it for delivery. I gave them my address and they told me 1 hour. 38 minutes after ordering they called me and said I lived too far away to deliver. This would not have been an issue if they told me right away and I could have called another place to order. I really suggest they either tell people when they call right away or put something on your website to say you only deliver in a certain km. The drive to my house is only 15 mins, it’s not that far. Extremely upset as now I have to wait another 1 hour likely to even get food from somewhere.

Haven't ordered their food in a while. The combination plate prices haven't risen too extravagantly, pleasantly surprised! I ordered the #4 tonight (substituted the chicken fried rice for the pork), and the portions were great! Enough to put away for the next day. The only place I will order my Chinese food. Have been a customer ever since they opened several years back. One happy customer!

I recently moved to hamilton and tried south city chinese food for the first time. The service was great and all of the food that I ordered was very flavourful. My only complaint was the deep fried items. I've worked in the restaurant industry for 15 years. And the oil was way overdue to be changed. All of the items had the old oil taste.
Sadly a good thing has come to an end. They’ve changed the containers, now shallow so you get less for a slightly higher price. The taste is not as good any more. We typically spend between 80-100 per order, we could tolerate the price creeping up by 25 to 50 cents per item every year, the last straw is smaller containers. Sorry, it was good while it lasted we’ll be looking for another place to try.
