The food was great. I found the server/owner very sarcastic and rude. I was insulted. Some may find this type of humour amusing. I don’t find this behaviour typical of the people I’ve met from the East Coast of Canada.

Not a bad little place. Owner was very friendly. (I’ve added a photo of him with his permission of course) He brought me a piece of his famous spiced cake with a candle on it for my birthday. The cake is a definite try. Very tasty with beautiful hints of warms spices dancing on the tastebuds.Service was good. Food was tasty too. It’s a nice little hub on the concession Street area.Cozy with a small amount of tables.Go see for yourself

The server (maybe owner) is a little crazy. Don't go if you want a quiet meal. The food was good though.

Hubby and I had a lovely Valentine's Day dinner at their special event. It was so fun and we felt like old friends of the owner and all the staff. The Bailey's Cheesecake was to die for! The rest of the special event menu was outstanding!

Stage Diner is a staple for my husband and I. It has great, classic breakfast dishes in an intimate diner environment. The owner is always so nice and welcoming. We love coming to this local spot.

A delightful discovery on Concession Street on the Mountain. Newfoundland-themed café where my brother and I enjoyed breakfast. We were made to feel very welcome and enjoyed some lively banter with the owner. Reasonably priced. We’ll be back.

We went to Hamilton for Christmas to visit my family & my parents took us to Stage Diner for breakfast on our last morning in Canada. The food was lovely (we bought two fruit scones to take with us onto the plane), and my Dad had lots of stories to tell me about the owner, Darryl & the cook (sorry, I cannot remember his name, but I think I remember it being William?). The atmosphere is truly east coast (we're from New Brunswick) & Darryl is a hoot. The locals who eat there clearly love him & the feelings are mutual. There was a young family there with a boy who I am going to guess is autistic & Darryl was so kind an patient with him & traded jokes with him like a kindly uncle, which melted my heart.I really hope the people of Hamilton embrace Darryl and take advantage of some lovely home cooked meals, and the chance to be treated like family. We'll definitely be back next time were home to visit!
