I had a really disappointing experience at the Subway located on Upper Gage in Hamilton. I’ve been to many different Subway locations across the city, and I’ve never been told no when I ask to have my sub grilled — no matter how many veggies or sauces are added.
At this location, when the girl making my sub asked if I wanted it toasted, I said yes and mentioned I wanted it grilled too. She didn’t grill it initially, and when I asked afterward, both the manager and the staff member said no. I explained that other Subways always do it without a problem, but instead of listening, they started saying their owner has 28 Subway locations and that grilling after adding veggies or sauces damages their grill.
I don’t visit their other Subway branches because clearly, they follow their own rules that other Subways don’t. Every other Subway I’ve been to has been happy to grill my sub the way I like — that’s basic customer service. If they’re running such a big business with so many locations and earning so much money, they can easily afford to maintain or replace their grills if needed.
This was a really pathetic experience, and I’d suggest avoiding this location. Other Subways in Hamilton care about customer satisfaction and never make excuses like this.

I’m not sure how many slices of Turkey should go on a turkey sub. At this location it varies depending on who’s working. One day it’s 5 and another it’s 6. How many slices should it be?
