Staff leave bones in their chicken, causing their customers to choke on the bone. We have reached out to Swiss Chalet three times now, the first two times we were ignored. The third time some gentleman Steve Portt emailed me, trying to twist my words, trying to make me out to be a liar, and had zero concern for this situation. This is extremely unprofessional and shows Swiss Chalet doesn’t care about the quality of the food they are serving. Anyone eating at Swiss Chalet needs to be aware and stay safe!

My family and I just got back from a late lunch at the Upper James location. I can honestly say that not only will we never eat at this location again, we will never eat Swiss Chalet again. The service was ridiculously slow and the food was terrible. Our friend visiting from England ordered a hot chicken sandwich that ironically came cold with a side of RAW, ROTTING cauliflower. I kid you not, the cauliflower was raw and browner than the last head of cauliflower at Food Basics.

I would like to make a comment for the store on upper james. Something happened christmas eve and when we went up on the 27th. Be treated us really good. We had the best waitress. I would definitely recommend this place thank you so much

Went through the DT. Wasn’t busy, parking lot was empty, I was the only car in the DT. My order was taken quickly. Once again this location disappoints with the food quality. The fries were tasteless. Like they’d been cooked before and then just recooked when I ordered. Waste of money for the poor food quality. Ever since they renovated this location the food has been awful. Only went there because the weather was bad and it was closest to where I was going.
Won’t be returning as food quality is poor.

I placed a Festive Family Feast yesterday for lunch but there were missing stuffing, chocolate and cutleries. I was upset because we couldn't eat the mashed potatoes with no cutleries which I can't go back till after work to ask for these missing items. However, when I got there, the lady manager handed the situation very well. I was only expecting to pick up the missing items. However, she made a whole new order. I asked her not to but she insisted. Sorry I didn't get your name. But thank you.

We ate in the restaurant. I had wings, fries and a thimble sized container of coleslaw. I like breaded wings (ideally crispy). All the marketing material looks like the wings are breaded. Mine weren't and I wasn't offered an option.

Placed our order around 5:10pm. Nothing special, 2 festive meals and a soup. Finally got the 2 meals almost an hour later and had to ask for the soup. A couple that came in after we ordered, got their food and paid long before we started eating. Had to ask a different waitress for a pop refill. Then had to wait 20 mins for the bill. Oh ya, asked for both meals with white meat. Only one had white meat. So started at 5:10 and finally walked out at 7:00.
Then, one of your drivers, decided he needed to park his car in between 2 handicapped parking spots(my husband was in our car in one of the spots). I was barely able to get into my car! I guess that's considered ok to do. I went in and complained, but I doubt anything will be done.

4 out of 5 Saturdays. 3 were delivery and had to go back to store to pick up what they shorted me all 3 deliveries. One time I picked up and checked order at store and again I was shorted. You gotta be better than McDonald's. They used to try to make you whole by giving a coupon. Now they give what they shorted and nothing else. Service gone way downhill on take out. Will try another and pick up. Hopefully not ow ed by same person and will check that out b 4 I order

It was for a 76th birthday. Baked potatoes were not hot my daughters ribs were not great. Not very organized had to ask for butter, sourcream etc. Never got the bowls of water to clean your fingers. Asked for white chicken one order was dark had to return it.
That's the 2nd time now at this location I haven't been happy with it.

We've had good days here, bad days here, this is beyond the worst. This is supposed to be the southern canuck - so pulled chicken, BBQ sauce, cheese, bacon and coleslaw. As you can see, it's half the bun empty, NO cheese, NO bacon, NO coleslaw. Also cold because it was the 3rd of 3 deliveries, and without a delivery bag. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. $54!! FIFTY FOUR DOLLARS.

On dec 6 2025 My experience was very disappointing with the manager after reservation was made and what requirements were needed. She said she understood how ever when we place thr high chair into place she started complaining about fire codes how ever there was no problem with the table beside us where the lady put her walker. Also 3 of the 10 orders were cold. Veg not even closed to being cooked epic fail will not return .
