Super friendly staff and great soup and sandwhiches. Go to lunch spot in the winter. Really the only complaint is that the Samosa soup needs to come back to the menu ASAP! XD

I usually love The Burnt Tongue and was really disappointed by this experience. I waited 10 minutes for one small Tomato & Tortellini and one Half Tomato & Basil Pesto Grilled Cheese. The staff seemed more interested in talking/hanging out vs. filling orders in a timely way. Once I got home, I opened up the sandwich - photos attached - and was so disappointed. That's it, for $6.19 + tax? Cheese only on one side and barely melted. Definitely not worth the cost. The soup was delicious.

Julia is such a sweetheart. The soup is delicious & it’s people like her who makes supporting local businesses even more special.

An amazing local soup spot with delicious, healthy options that have a home made feel. All the soups and salads I’ve ever had are fantastic and while this location doesn’t have fries and burgers, it’s a great quick bite, lunch version of the restaurant. Only thing of note is this location is very very small so if you’re looking to sit down, you’re better off visiting the Locke St. Location. Nevertheless, The Burnt Tongue is one of the best Hamilton-Born restaurants in the city and I’d highly recommend on a cold winters day!

Our burger patties were very cold and hard.
Inedible. Mushroom barley soup was very bland
Not the usual for burnt tongue and won't go to this location again.

I recommend the Locke St location which is excellent. But I just had delivery from either the King W or Dundas one that was brutal. Tortellini soup had like 3 Tortellinis and the burgers had clearly been pre cooked but not reheated tastied like cold grease and the cheese was not even remotely melted and still cold. Anyway the Locke location is awesome but wont do delivery again in case the delivery service goes to another location.

I ordered from here a few times and every time the food was incredible. The new birria grilled cheese is easily my favorite. Staff are friendly, though prices are a bit high. Overall amazing experience. (They also take Mac flex points for students)

Seems to be a common theme within reviews of people missing their crispy onions on top of soup. The potato and leak soup had about 2cm of the red chili oil sitting on top, completely drowning the soup. They ran out of crackers during lunch rush on a Friday.

Classic tomato soup with a grilled cheese hits so hard in the fall 😋😋

Pretty cool place it was very busy when we went, and the food is amazing like all of the locations. Do think it’s a little bit pricey for what you’re getting

Ordered thru Uber Eats and when being delivered it was dropped all over the driveway. The bag was too thin and was wet. I called this location to see if they could assist me and told me that I could re-order and pick it up. That would mean another $100 charge as my refund will be more than 3 days. A manager was supposed to call, have heard nothing! Very disappointed in the service.

Love this location but can we please switch back to plastic bags or better brown bags, I had a soup, 2 buns and a sandwich and it must’ve been too heavy walking home or something because it ended up tearing the bag and ended up on the pavement

We recently visited The Burnt Tongue (King St) while vacationing in Canada from New Jersey. I really wanted to stay away from chain restaurants as much as possible and find local (affordable) places. Over the course of our week-long trip to Niagara and Toronto, this was one of my favorite places we ate! Prices were reasonable and food was delicious! We previewed the menu online 1st and when we arrived, the Black Bean Burger wasn't on the menu in-store. However, after asking, they made it for my husband with no issue at all (and he loved it). The hotdog my son had looked delicious and my meal (the sesame ginger slaw salad with added egg salad) was absolutely 5-stars. A MUCH needed lighter and veg-forward dinner. Bonus was the neighborhood was lovely. Cool shops to pop into, nice street vibe, ample parking, and dessert offerings nearby. SO awesome this place is open for dinner. HIGHLY recommend to locals and those visiting from afar!
