The Capitol is far and away the best bar in Hamilton! Always reliable food and drinks. Not only that, but the live music is outstanding. If you haven’t been yet, you need to check it out. The staff are the family and friends you always wanted, but didn’t know you needed.

I wish zero stars was an option. I have never felt more unwelcome and uncomfortable. The bartender served us as though she not only hates her job but her life in general. Beyond rude and disrespectful. I’d pay money to have her replaced. In fact I would pitch in the increase the hourly wage of her replacement. I can not believe anyone employs this woman. If she happens to be the owner I can’t imagine how this bar remains open.

Fabulous. Nice little place to get a pint. Burger was awesome, handmade, a nice manageable size (no monster burgs for me, tyvm) with a very good Sauce and cooked perfectly medium. The side potatoes were good, but I do prefer fries. Recommend!

I just visited this bar for the second time and it’s going up on the top 5 list for me as far as cool and groovin Hamilton bars. The staff are super cool and down to earth. Music on point. Nice diverse clientele from all walks of life. Cheers!

This is a great bar for adults, especially at Christmas. A WIDE variety of whiskeys and scotch, and an air of sophistication to it without being a full black tie/white collar joint, but you could totally dress up nicely here and fit in just fine if you were on a date or with work friends. Soup was amazing, and the hummus with pitas are fantastic to snack on while drinking. The pasta had a mix of green olives and capers in it that I wasn't a massive fan of and it was cooked a bit too far past el-dente for my taste but next time I might just ask for them to hold the capers or something. I'll definitely be back.
We were visiting a friend on Saturday night. Chose the Capitol Bar, opposite side of Hamilton to where she lived. Food was extremely generous and more delicious than the menu described. Atmosphere and some specialty drinks made for a fun evening. Thank you to the staff being courteous and friendly. Highly recommended this gem on your next visit.
