One of the worst and most expensive meal I've had in a long time. $109.00 plus tip for 2 . 2 small salads-- 1 pizza-- 1 Chicken Parm-- 2 bottles of beer. The food was horrible. I should of got a street dog instead.

If you’re looking for a little slice of Italy in Hamilton, let me save you the trouble , The Express Italian Eatery is it. From the moment you step inside, you feel like you’ve been welcomed into a family kitchen rather than a restaurant. The atmosphere is warm, the staff are genuinely passionate, and then… the food arrives, and you realize you’ve struck gold.

The Calzone alone deserves its own standing ovation. Golden, perfectly baked, with that irresistible balance of crisp outside and soft, cheesy goodness inside, it’s the kind of dish that makes you close your eyes for a moment just to take it all in. The pasta? Forget what you think you know about pasta. Every bite is fresh, rich, and bursting with the kind of authentic flavor that can only come from a kitchen that knows and loves real Italian cooking.

Every single plate that comes out feels like a love letter to Italy. Whether you’re diving into the pasta, tearing into that calzone, or sampling one of their other creations, there’s this unmistakable feeling that you’re tasting something made with heart, tradition, and a touch of Italy ! The express is a good choice for lunch in Westdale, offering competitive prices and nice options. Their food tastes good, but falls a bit short of other nearby Italian options in that department. I'd recommend trying the lunch offers or daily special offers.

I used to really enjoy this restaurant, but unfortunately, the quality has gone downhill. One time I ordered takeout, and the dish had a rancid smell. I emailed the restaurant to share my concern and included the location in my message, but they didn’t seem to notice and simply replied asking me to confirm the location.

On a more recent visit with my toddler, we were served a dish of bolognese with a long strand of hair wrapped around the meatball.

Eating out is a luxury nowadays, and it shouldn’t come with this kind of stress or disappointment. Sadly, we will no longer be returning. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and makes improvements.

Fantastic food and service pizza absolutely delicious 😋

So delicious! I’ve come here a few times now. The penne bolognese is absolutely delicious, I’ve been back for it twice! I’ve also had their $15 lunch special with the pasta with rosé sauce, caesar salad, and orange pekoe tea, which was all good as well. The service is also always pleasant and the restaurant is clean and cozy. Great Italian place near campus!

One of the few sit down restaurants in Westdale that caters to more than students. The food, service and atmosphere is much appreciated in this neighborhood. Very enjoyable in a comfortable and relaxing environment.
