The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Hamilton Mountain

I visited The Keg to celebrate my birthday, and unfortunately, the experience didn’t meet expectations. Our server, Logan, didn’t do a single quality check during the meal. We had noted the birthday in the reservation and mentioned it again to the server, but it was never acknowledged — no dessert, no mention, nothing.

The service felt rushed and impersonal, like it was just about getting the job done rather than making us feel welcome. It’s disappointing, especially on what was supposed to be a special night.

I would advise management to ensure servers are trained with the right approach to hospitality. The Keg has a reputation not only for its great food, but also for its warm, attentive service — something that was clearly lacking during our visit.

My partner and I came here for date night and it was such a great experience. It was my first time eating at The Keg and our server, Dalton, made the evening memorable with his outstanding service. He was attentive, welcoming, and always checked in at the right times without ever rushing us. His friendliness and professionalism really added to the atmosphere and let us just enjoy our night.

The food was excellent — the steak was cooked perfectly and full of flavour, and everything else we ordered came out fresh and beautifully prepared. We’ll definitely be back!

My wife's birthday dinner met our expectations at The Keg with a big thanks to Aja Z. She was attentive, polite, and professional. If you have a sangria take the red, white is not as flavorful. Calamari was excellent. Caesar salad was great. The filet mignon never disappoints us even if my 10oz looked smaller than my wife's. Lol. We like the double baked potato, it's so much work to make at home. Our first taste of The Billy Miner ice cream cake was good and it was a lovely complimentary birthday gift from The Keg. Thank you Aja and the rest of the team for an enjoyable evening.

I went online and ordered a NY strip loin dinner. I asked for very little spice as this was for my dog Katie as she was unwell and this would be her last dinner. When I arrived for pick up a wonderful lady came out and said they read my request and they included a piece of Billy Miner for me and the dinner for Katie was on the house. I’m so grateful for their kindness. Thank you so much

We had such a great experience! The food was amazing as always, but what really made the night special was our server, Quinn K. He was so friendly, attentive, and professional — truly went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. It’s not every day you get service like that, and it made the whole evening even better.

Highly recommend this location, and if you’re lucky enough to have Quinn as your server, you’re in for a fantastic dining experience!

We decided the best way to use the two thoughtful gift cards from my students was a visit to The Keg. From the moment we sat down, our table’s “guidance meister,” Jessie M., made the evening special. She walked us through the different cuts and options with knowledge and warmth—never pushy, always personable. Jessie seemed to have a perfect sense of timing, checking in just when needed and ensuring we were enjoying ourselves.

And enjoy we did. The food was excellent, leaving us perfectly satisfied without being overstuffed. The ambience struck a balance between cozy and elegant, a little darker and cool, which added to the experience.

Kudos to everyone at this Keg location for making our visit memorable, and especially to Jessie M. for her genuine care and expertise.

Excellent as usual! Friendly and helpful staff. Helped to go a bit earlier before it got busy as service got slower, but it just made a longer more leisurely dinner.

Very noisy and uncomfortable atmosphere

If you're a steak lover this is definitely an awesome place to go! It's definitely in the higher end of my budget being $50 plus per person but worth it. I had the rib steak which was amazing. The waitress was in training but was awesome cheerful and helpful. Overall great evening.
EDIT: I am editing this review based on my recent visit to The Keg. The atmosphere is always good although it can be a bit noisy if it's busy. I went with two other friends for a birthday celebration and was surprisingly disappointed with the service and the food. The waitress was exceptionally chatty and not listening to our order which we had to repeat several times. My prime rib was ordered medium rare and was well done and very dry. I know things can't be perfect every time, but with the prices they charge it should be at least consistent. Hope this is only a one off.

I know I don't need to hype up the keg too much because everyone knows they have great customer service and their food is pretty well guaranteed to be delicious every time. My family went there for my adult son's birthday. We all ordered filet mignon. Everybody's looked delicious, but when they brought my son's, I noticed it was not very thick, especially compared to the rest of ours. When he was eating he seemed to be chewing a lot so I asked him how he is liking his steak and he said it's dry and quite chewy. Now having said that, does have some issues, including around food and he did ask for medium well so it's not gonna taste as good as a medium rare. However, my daughter had hers ordered the same way, and hers was perfectly thick and perfectly cooked and perfectly melting in her mouth like always. Also, we all tasted it just to make sure he wasn't overreacting. He was not. The server had been amazing already even before this and his response to this issue was amazing. We are not comfortable sending things back so we were very happy with his response. By the time the bar manager brought the whole new meal out, my son was not able to eat it, but was happy to pack it up and take it home. We were so impressed already that they remade his meal and apologized profusely and the bar manager came over personally and apologized profusely. We were apologizing because we embarrassed that they make such big fuss over it but that's why they are who they are. And then when we got our bill, they had taken his whole meal off the bill. I pulled the server over and asked them if it was a mistake and they said nope we want you to have the best experience. Anyway, so as usual, amazing food, and amazing service at The Keg!

The steak tasted cheap, like they have switched to lower quality beef. Probably so they can keep the same profit margin with the rising cost of beef.

The music was way too loud to have a conversation without yelling

Delicious as always, my birthday was in the middle of the week and I wanted something I could bring home after a long day of work. The quality remains the same whether you sit in to eat or order out! Chefs kiss mwah!!
