Sat and watched a soccer game for two hours, server didn't speak to me once... Also it was cold and there was no soap in the bathroom.

Come here very often. All of the food is delicious, drinks poured perfectly, and the staff are all warm and inviting. The pub is small, but from the first time I walked in it was apparent that this establishment carries a great deal of heart. Always has interesting events going on upstairs. Highly recommend the trivia!

Came for a wedding even for my friends Abigail and Frank , the food was good but the service wasn’t great.

We got left multiple times and had to track down our server to place orders , automatic tips added to our bill and we were never informed of this so I tipped 25$ on top of an already 33 dollar tip

I wouldn’t recommend having a group gathering here

Absolute gem of a bar. The staff are unreal, the food is great, and the vibes are always on point. Huge shoutout to Aoife, Rachel, E.S.Aaron, Aurora, Dan, Bailey, and Lena for being absolute legends every time — and Nicole for running the place like a pro. Whether you’re in for one drink or accidentally stay all night, the Pheasant Plucker never misses. 10/10 would pluck again.

Last week my wife and I booked an after-ceremony dinner at The Pheasant. This was not our main wedding (that took place in the UK), but simply a celebratory dinner with about 40 guests.

Leading up to the event, we worked closely with Elena, who was excellent throughout the entire planning process. We discussed guest count, staffing, menus to make things easier on the kitchen, and fees. It was clearly agreed that there would be a $150 staffing fee and a $25 outside cake fee, which included cutting the cake.

On the night of the event, the experience was unfortunately mixed.

Our server had to be tracked down multiple times from the downstairs section just to take orders. When it came time for the cake, we were told cutting it was “not part of the job description,” so we served it ourselves (which was fine, but then made the cake fee confusing).

As guests began to leave and pay their bills, an automatic 18% gratuity had been added due to the group size — which is understandable. However, no one was informed that gratuity was already included. As a result, several guests tipped on top of the automatic gratuity, unknowingly paying double. When I raised this with the server, the response was essentially, “You have to understand, waitresses make their money from tips.” I understand tipping culture — but double tipping without transparency is not acceptable.

When it was time for me to pay my bill, I was told that the $150 staffing fee had already been applied — and then I was charged the staffing fee again. I questioned this and was told it was “policy,” so I paid to avoid causing a scene. After reviewing my receipt later, I also noticed:
• The staffing fee was charged twice
• The cake fee was charged again
• An 18% gratuity was applied to the fees themselves, which makes no sense

I brought these concerns to Elena, who was apologetic and acknowledged that this is not how things should have gone. She also stated she was unaware of the automatic gratuity situation, which I appreciated her honesty.

Unfortunately, the situation worsened when the general manager, Nicole, called me. Instead of addressing the issues, she was dismissive, told me she didn’t understand why I was upset, and insisted her servers “don’t do that.” When I mentioned leaving an honest review of my experience, she said it was “unfair” for me to post online. The call was unprofessional and left a very sour final impression.

Final ratings:
• Elena: 10/10
• Environment: 10/10
• Food: 8.5/10
• Service: 6/10

This had the potential to be a great experience, but poor communication, billing issues, and unprofessional management ultimately overshadowed what should have been a special evening.

As the neighbourhood pub, the pheasant plucker is absolutely the place to be. Welcoming and smiling faces, pleasant and prompt service with a side of laughter. The food is always top tier and the beer is always cold. We’ve been coming to this place for years and the best thing - it never changes. It’s always good times, good vibes and good people.
