Girls night birthday celebration with the chefs menu. The wine pairings and food were on point with exceptional service and ambiance. Watching all the plates come out makes me want to come back for main dishes.

I picked this restaurant for my birthday based on the great reviews here and we were sadly disappointed. The parmesanbeignets were not beignets, My paella was flavourless except for the bits of chorizo, the portions were on the small side, especially my husband's beef. Our server said bizarre things to us. Nobody checked on us from the time entres arrived until we were done eating and asking for the bill. Unfortunately, in such a competitive location, we won't be back.

Unfortunately not a ton of choices for vegetarians. They had one main, and maybe 1-2 apps. I ordered the roasted celeriac as the main - which alone was $29, which was not flavourful and certainly did not meet the standard of their meat dishes. As a vegetarian, I would not go back but strongly urge them to come up with more well rounded dishes so that if someone is there with a large group, it is not a barrier.

Had a fantastic pre-concert dinner at The Standard on a weekday and it absolutely delivered.
I ordered the picanha and my spouse had the paella — both were spot on. The picanha was cooked perfectly with great flavour and tenderness, and the paella was packed with flavour and done just right. No complaints, just really solid execution.
Location is a huge bonus — right downtown and literally steps away from TD Coliseum and FirstOntario Centre. Couldn’t ask for a more convenient spot before a show.
Great food, great timing, great experience. We’ll definitely be back.

Had high expectations but was disappointed pretty quickly. Ordered bottled sparkling water with a side of lime - pretty basic request - no limes cut but we'll get you some - 15 mins later have to flag down a manager - no apologies- finally got the lime by this time we'd already drank a fair amount of the water . The service was abysmal- it was not busy when we were there but everything took so long - again no explanation/communication. The steak and eggs was very disappointing- the eggs were fine but a good portion of the steak was inedible and the frites were piled up on gravy with the streak sitting on top - so so soggy . Will never go back

It was okay spend around 400$ but the food wasn't as good do it didn't seems worth it. Got the Valentine's day chef menu. The drinks were good though and the atmosphère

Came in for an early Valentine's dinner with my significant other, had exceptional service. our server, Ryan, was the absolute best, very knowledgeable, super nice.  We will definitely be back 10/10 great service.

We have been to the standard probably 5 or more times by now. It has quickly become our favourite restaurant in Hamilton. The changing menu keeps things fresh and the staff always provide incredible service. Special shoutout to Ryan who has been our server a few times and always pay attention to what we may be celebrating and getting our food on time to attend nearby shows. We highly recommend this place to anyone!

First time to this reataurant but it won't be my last. Food was excellent. Loved the burger and fries. Focaccia and whipped feta😱😱. Incredible My only comment is the ice cream cookie for dessert is so big. I'm not sure how one person could finish it. The server did bring us containers to take one of the cookies off to take home. Took took advantage of their prix lunch menu.
