The food was very good, but the service was slow. We were at the restaurant prior to a concert at the TD colosium. We had 90 minutes for dinner, and mentioned that we had to leave by 7:30, but the service was slow, and our main arrived at 7:20, so we did not really enjoy or finish our meal.
My friends and I have been wanting to try The Standard for quite a while, but we could never seem to get reservations when we were planning to visit Hamilton. We were thrilled when we finally secured a table. It was well worth the wait. The food and service were both incredible. Been here for breakfast and lunch and it hits every time. It's a cliche to say that ingredients are important but these guys really seem to care - for instance, I wouldn't have expected this place to have the best oysters I've had in Hamilton. Service is inobtrusive and efficient. Becoming one of my go-to establishments when in town.
