I regularly go to Ye Olde Squire on Upper James for work lunches because it’s a great place. The wait staff is always super friendly and their menu has a lot of great options. Furthermore the food is consistently delicious.

Stopped by today for lunch and tried the Royal Dublin burger. I was shocked by how massive it was. It’s a bacon cheeseburger with two chicken tenders on top (which were also very large)

The burger was fantastic! Will have to order it again.

Overall a great place to eat and will be back regularly.

We had 3 different servers in the span of our meal. The chicken tenders tasted like fish sticks. The beers were good and cold, and the appetizer was good. But the entrée was very underwhelming.

Decent pub with the usual fare. Nice place to be on a snowy night with friends.

Only complaint is that happy hour runs from 2 - 5 pm when most people are still at work?

Hamilton really is a town for the under employed.

There is no better place for Liver and onions and the rest of the menu is pretty fabulous too. Fast and friendly service everytime.

Food was meh this time. Wings were tough, rubbery. Fries were not crispy. What's wrong with the blue cheese dip? It's the oddest grey colour. Potato skins were alright.
I do like that there's a gluten free fryer and a few decent options for gluten free "pub fare" but this time we were underwhelmed. We probably sont hurry back.

Went went halloween night for dinner. The food was great, nice and quiet as everyone else was out. Enjoyed our meal, staff was great, and very cool atmosphere.

Great experience overall, French fries were the best! The curry poutine was good but the hot option lost the curry flavour.

We have been to Ye Olde Squire on Upper James a few times over the years and the food is always great and has been consistent. The service was good on this recent visit and everything came out on time. The prices are reasonable compared to other similar restaurants. We tried the Irish Nachos this time, they were really good, nice change using kettle cooked chips. For the mains we ordered the steak pie, comparable to a Scottish pie and the Fisherman’s platter. Both dishes were good and were enjoyed. The vegetables however could use some seasoning, they were a bit bland overall. If you’re ever in the area, stop in. Definitely a good restaurant worth checking out.

It's a nice pub. We like to come here on game nights and have wings and drinks. Brianne is always very nice and makes sure our glasses are full and the food good.
