Myself and my partner stopped here to get steak to celebrate his 30th. We can honestly say this was the best steak we have ever had. Absolutely delicious. Also the cinnamon bun was unbelievable. We can’t wait to come back! Thank you!!
Best cinnamon roll I've ever had. No picture attached cause I ate it all. My husband had like 2 bites. Haha
I always make it an effort whenever I am visiting a new town to check out their local grocery store - it is a great way to find some hidden gems!
We came here just to browse to see what they have - a lot of artisanal items and was stocked very well.
We got the fresh café counter and instantly knew we had to get something as the cinnamon bun was calling our names. We grabbed one (warmed) as well as the cinnamon bread pudding.
We devoured the cinnamon bun in the car and I will say that i will NEVER forget how amazing this thing one! I have never had a cinnamon bun so moist and buttery and it didnt even need a mountain of icing to hide the dryness that I find other cinnamon buns often have. This was so warm and gooey and even a little crispy from the edges!
I talked about that cinnamon bun all day long and was the highlight from my trip - truly life changing! It comes as a single, a double, or tray of 6 that you can heat up at home.
I will definitely be coming back - may even get another one for the way home! You will want to come here and grab one for yourself. It was a delicious experience that has forever ruined every other cinnamon bun I will probably ever have in my life! So delicious!
We stopped here on a Sunday when not much else was open and we are so glad we did! Beautiful and clean storefront with so many interesting and locally made grocery goods. We were pleasantly surprised to see they also had a huge bakery, fresh breakfast sandwiches, cold prepared foods, and a full espresso bar. We got lattes, a bagel BELT, a western, and a cinnamon bun. I don't know what they do to the bacon but it was unreal. We both felt the sandwiches were some of the best we've had recently. The cinnamon bun was gooey and delicious. I felt everything was reasonably priced for the quality. Would highly highly recommend. I know we will definitely be stopping by on your way back from Algonquin in the future.
Quite possibly the most frustrating store. Their service/counter system doesn’t work, the cash system is beyond ridiculous. 😳🔫
I saw great reviews for the brioche cinnamon bun and the ginger cookie and that’s what I left with! Both were fantastic!
Pro tip: after 3pm on Sundays all baked goods are 25% off! I got this cookie and cinnamon bun (both large enough to share!) for $6 with tax which I thought was extremely fair for the quality.
The cinnamon bun doesn’t have much of a cinnamon flavour, more like a buttery sticky bun. It was very sweet and indulgent! The cookie had amazing baked molasses flavour. It was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside and not too sweet either.
Many other reviews mention the high prices, but in terms of the bakery and coffee section of the store I don’t think people from Toronto will be shocked by a $5 latte. Other items, for example the $65 chicken pot pie or $24 brownie tray were slightly surprising, but I bet are delicious too!
Staff were friendly and checkout was efficient. I’d recommend this if you were on the way to or from Arrowhead Provincial Park.
Food was amazing if im ever in the area I will definitely go again.
The best little pitstop.
I grabbed eggplant lasagna from here and it was divine. Staff are very kind and helpful. They have a wide variety of produce, frozen and fresh local food. Also lots of artisanal booths.
Stop here, you will be glad you did 🙂
For a small town in Northern Ontario the healthy gourmet cooked meals are delicious and convenient. There is always a nice selection of fresh produce and all kinds of groceries including fresh and frozen specialty foods and meals. You can enjoy a dine-in snack or meal in a country casual setting, grab some take out, an expesso and one of there deserts or just shop for home and gift craft items. Great people, great food.
We order our family Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners from Farmer’s Daughter most years and we are never disappointed. This year we needed an early Christmas dinner, and the service we received from placing the order until the pick up was excellent. Most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious, as always. Thank you to the entire staff at FD (with a special shoutout to the chef/chefs) for always going above and beyond. Our family appreciates all of you so much. Merry Christmas!

Pros: A very nice, clean store, lots of variety.
Cons: Don’t place online orders. Placed a nearly $100 order online (and paid online) for my aunt and the entire order was incorrect.
When I said “this isn’t what was ordered, here is the confirmation e-mail with a picture, they said that’s what it is, I asked again are you sure, look here they seem completely different, the guy said yes that’s what was ordered and walked away. I took them over to my aunt and she said “that’s not what I had you order.” What a joke. I have never felt the need to leave a poor review online but when you say 1) this isn’t what was ordered, 2) showed the picture, 3) even said they are not even called the same thing and are assured it is, total BS. My aunt wanted them for Christmas treats for nieces and nephews. I told her just give them away to adults and we will order from Windmill Bakery.
Some pretty good stuff here. Fresh and has some good flavor.
Beautiful shop hence the 3 stars. The checkout has to be slowest as staff is always scrambling for prices. The register and scale pricing should be avaialble to view by customers without me needing to find out my one apple cost almost 4.00.
Everything is fresh & free from chemicals...excellent shopping experience
Nice spot, but is it ever expensive. Their pickled crops caught my eye, but I always fell to the floor seeing the price. Service was odd, nobody at the cash and waited a bit to pay.
