Visit Monday May 19, 2025 for coffee and pastries. Mobility impaired accessible, nearby parking. Located on the boardwalk / promenade at Friday Harbour Resort. Lovely atmosphere with a French vibe. Excellent assortment of fresh pastries and deserts along with hot and cold beverages. Staff were professional and friendly. Views of the marina and boardwalk with comfortable inside and patio seatting. Lovely, would recommend. Prices moderate to expensive given the high quality of the product and service.

Me and my friends visited this place today and were pleasantly surprised by the staff. We even got a chance to meet the owner, who was very kind and attentive. The coffee and croissant were delicious!

Older lady/owner I’m assuming (pink shirt) seemed very rude. The place is cramped (but still had some empty spaces) so I used one chair from another empty table to put my large tote bag. The owner grabs the chair away without asking. I would understand that if it was busy… but it wasn’t and I wasn’t bothering anyone nor taking up space. My tote bag would’ve blocked half the table anyways (if I hadn’t placed it on a chair) so I put it behind me on my back, which made sitting very uncomfortable because the seats were also small enough. Of course, I would have obviously put the chair back in its place when I was done. I truly believe she wouldn’t mind or do this to customers of her race. I can tell she treated other patrons much better. If you read the reviews, many people accuse the owner of racism and discrimination against minorities. First and last time coming here. Very disappointed. Redeeming factors are that the two young girls (wearing blue blouses) were nice and the interior is pretty. Overall, the food is still very expensive for its small size and quality. Would’ve tasted better if it weren’t for the attitude! Avoid this place!

10/10 — A Hidden Gem in Barrie & Innisfil!

This patisserie is an absolute gem — beautiful place with an amazing atmosphere and top-tier service. I’ve been here twice in the past two weeks and can’t get enough.

The carrot cake is a standout — perfectly balanced sweetness and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. So fresh and flavorful!
The croissants are just as impressive — super fresh and crunchy, with fillings like pistachio, almond, and Nutella that are absolutely delicious.😍🤤

Also loved the latte — strong, smooth, and never bitter. The coffee beans they use are fantastic.

Honestly, this is the only fancy and genuinely tasty spot I’ve found in Barrie and Innisfil!!!!
A total must-visit!📍

The place is beautiful and food is delicious! The owners were very warm and welcoming and my 2 years old daughter ate everything with such a pleasure. We will definitely come back!

On Saturday, March 15, 2025, we celebrated a family holiday, I invited my husband for a cup of coffee at a café “Parisienne”, place I love for its coziness, comfort, and of course, very delicious pastries; you feel at home surrounded by this beauty. How wonderful it is to have such a place! Thank you to the café staff for your service and for the positive emotions that make our lives happy!

UPDATE: I shared my experience on social media (Instagram), and the bakery owner’s response speaks for itself (see the photos). Instead of addressing my concerns professionally, they doubled down with rudeness and dismissiveness. It’s clear this attitude starts at the top. Imagine a business threatening to call the police on a customer simply for sharing a negative experience. No apology, no accountability—just hostility. Absolutely unacceptable.

I am a resident of Friday Harbour, and I am completely appalled by the treatment I received at Parisienne Patisserie and Bistro.

This was not my first time visiting, and unfortunately, every experience I’ve had here has left me feeling unwelcome. This time, I brought a friend visiting from out of town, and I was not only disappointed but also deeply embarrassed that this was the service she encountered.

When we arrived, three staff members looked at us, said nothing, and walked away. I had to initiate the greeting and ask about seating, which was met with indifference. We seated ourselves, grabbed menus, and waited over 20 minutes without a single acknowledgment—no water, no check-in, nothing. Meanwhile, the server actively attended to other tables. When I finally asked if we could place an order, she responded in a curt and dismissive manner, saying she was busy and that we had to order at the front counter. At no point prior to that were we informed of this process.

To make matters worse, I was on my lunch break and needed to return to work in time for client meetings and consultations. Instead, I wasted over 20 minutes just waiting to be acknowledged before ultimately leaving without being served.

As a local, I frequent many of the restaurants at Friday Harbour, and I have never once been treated this way elsewhere. I can confidently say that every other establishment here provides impeccable customer service. They have always made me feel welcome, unlike my repeated experiences at Parisienne Patisserie and Bistro.

I was actually looking forward to hosting high tea with my girlfriends or with my Friday Harbour book club girlies this summer at Parisienne, but after this experience, I will not be returning—nor will I recommend this place to anyone.

Upon reviewing some of the Google reviews, I discovered that I am not the only person who has experienced racial discrimination, racial profiling, or been treated differently because of their race at this establishment. This is completely unacceptable, and I encourage others to share their experiences so that this pattern of behavior does not continue unnoticed.

Regardless of how busy a restaurant is, basic customer service—like a simple “I’ll be with you shortly”—goes a long way. Instead, we were blatantly ignored. Given that every visit has resulted in similar treatment, I can’t help but feel that my presence as a Black customer is unwelcome here.

This was the last time I will spend my time or money at Parisienne Patisserie and Bistro. If you value inclusivity, respect, and good service, I strongly suggest taking your business elsewhere.

Hey the owner should respond to an email about their tea and service. But no response by email in one week. Last Sunday, just out for a warm tea at this cafe. I ordered the Lavender camomile tea and it had no lavender buds in it and had no taste of lavender. The server did reluctantly offer to pour me another tea after showing me the bag the tea came from. I thought to try a bit more of the tea to see if the flavours would come through. Sadly, the tea was not good. I then asked for a black tea and the server asked how I would like to pay for that. The customer is always right. The server should have apologized and offer a substitute tea. You get better service at Tim Hortons. They will replace a tea or coffee if it is not satisfactory.
For 8.50 for a pot of tea plus the resort fee of . 42 cents. The pretty decorations do not count if the service and food or tea is below standard.

The worst cafe we have ever been to , the head baker dimitri and the women taking order had such bad attitude towards us, and they were so unapologetic about their racist behaviour! Would never recommend coming here!!

The rudest staff i have ever come across. The sever anastasia was making racist remarks towards us and asked us to leave from our table while we were in the middle of ordering. The manager’s repsonse was ‘These things happen- can’t do anything’. EXTREMELY rude people!

Hargun Bakshi

worst service! their server was so rude and made nasty remarks in french thinking we wouldn’t understand,
Anastasia made us get up from the table while we were in process of our order to make someone else sit
they were unapologetically rude
