Markie's Montreal Smoked Meat

We loved the poutine with fresh cheese and smoked meat sandwiches. The smoked meat was very tender. Just what we needed on a cold night in Ottawa. We had our food delivered, so I can't comment on the atmosphere of the restaurant. Highly recommended!

This place was awesome. I had the best reuben sandwich I have had in ages. The smoked meat was perfection and the French fries were great. I brought my mom in between my daughter's basketball games (tournament) and she really enjoyed their fish and chips. Well worth the visit.

Waited a long time for a smoke meat place in Kanata and I see now they got a location in Orleans too! Awesome! Markies fits the bill for me. It met my high expectations and the prices were decent in comparison to Stacked on Bank St. Smoke meat was very good and the fries were really good too. Don't think they were fresh-cut but they were good either way. I got the jumbo 8oz sandwich platter. Service was pleasant and fast. The inside had a number of tables if you wanted to eat inside but I opted for takeout. My initial impression of the inside was Mehhh..but I cared more for the quality of the food/prices and I was not disappointed. Did I have any gripes..? well, I saw a tiny bit of fat on the smoke meat, I never asked if they had lean, probably will ask next time but overall it was excellent. I think Stacked cuts and has slightly nicer smoke meat but honestly.. I can't complain. I'll be considering Markies as one of my lunch spots moving forward and suggest you give it a try too.

I have been coming to the Kanata location for many years and the quality of food is consistently high, staff are very friendly and deliver the meal quickly. The beef is juicy and tasty, and the portion size is filling. Place is clean and bright. Highly recommended to visit and enjoy the food. Thank you Jr , Patrick and Jessica!

Two years ago Mark took care of our evening wedding party on our farm in Richmond. I got distracted and never did this review. He provided us with lean and medium smoked meat, rye, mustard and pickles for 100 people and he even delivered himself!!!. The smoked meat was absolutely fantastic and the pickles are a wonderful brand, all was delicious and our guests loved the food!

I just ordered the same for 50 people, for my husband's birthday party tomorrow night, complete with sweet corn, bonfire and Ambush playing!!!!

Food is good and reasonably priced. The lunch special is a great deal. Their smoked meat is among the best in Ottawa (despite being very good, it doesn't quite measure up to Montreal's offerings but that should go without saying).

Their fries will rival the best anywhere tnough! I even ate all the little crunchy bits. Definitely worth going here regularly.
