Three of us ate there on July 4. Two of us had the fancy beet salad, a summer menu specialty item, advertised as "roasted red beets, baby greens, macedonian feta & goat cheese, candied pecans, pumpkin seeds, italian vinaigrette, beet crisps". For the most part, they liked the salad but it was very obvious that the chunks of beets had not been roasted but steamed or even boiled. They did not have that caramelized sweetness you can only get by roasting. We did politely point this out to our amazing server, André, who did speak to the kitchen about it. The other party had the salt and pepper wings and a small Caesar salad. The wings came coated in some kind of panko-ish coating, were overdone and tasted mildly of fish, indicating that the cooking oil was likely overdue to be changed. The Caesar salad was huge cut pieces of Romaine that were limp, overdressed and very wet. Disappointing. Dessert was a high point. Enormous pieces of "mile high mocha pie" were thoroughly enjoyed by two of the party. We find this location to be hit and miss. Their signature dishes are sometimes very good, other times too heavily spiced or just plain uninspiring. The service is outstanding.

Overall our dinner was excellent. There was a small mixup with an appetizer, but management handled it so well. The food was fantastic, timing of serving our courses was perfect and the staff were very good. Looking forward to going back soon.

Saturday night, Toronto Maole Leafs in town for Gane #4 vs the Ottawa Senators. Busy, and bustling. Our server Kyle was great and didn't rush us. Service was timed perfectly.

AMAZING! the staff was great - our server was a young man super sweet kid and was overall a great server. the food didn't take long at all and it was delicious. along with the $5 espresso martinis. i will definitely be back at moxies kanata next time i go out for dinner!
