A special place

Disappointing. Was hoping for a wonderful dinner with jazz experience. Waited 10 minutes at the entrance then had to be seeking attention to be noticed. Though I had made a reservation, it seemed to have been forgotten. I was not seated at a favourable location to be able to hear the music but was easily accommodated with a better table near stage. The Octopus was delicious but I will never recommend the ravioli. The person serving me was quite lovely however too busy to tend to my table. I had to pour my own water and my own wine. Why do we have to pay service fees?? Why? Brookstreet Hôtel should really do something about the acoustics in that room. It is not designed for good sound. So, I don’t think I will be coming back anytime soon.

Had an amazing evening at the Jazz Lounge. The pianist Robert, is an outstanding talent and so fun.

The service from John and Jacob is excellent. With a good selection of beers from tap, and a small but good choice of meals. The kitchen was still taking orders at 10pm.
There is often a live band, and the piano player is amazing

Cool lounge with live blues music. Music isn’t too loud so you can still talk with people at the table. Good food, the garden salad had melted cheese on it and I’ve no idea how the chef did that as the salad was still cold.

Shawn behind the bar is perfect, always knowing when he's needed and an excellent conversationalist. The evening entertainment is high quality and can be enjoyed from anywhere but you can always have a conversation without yelling. In the warmer months the outside patio is perfect for a long lunch in the shade.

Jacques the door man is the most wonderful person, our server Deborah was incredible and the bartender Shawn made us the most fantastic cocktails. We came here for the band beats and keys and the entire group of us are overjoyed. 12/10. Great job Mr Matthews ;)
