Perspectives Restaurant at Brookstreet

We were a group of 20 and had reserved a space ahead of time for our family Christmas get-together. This was my first time eating in the restaurant. Since our reservation was for 10:30 am Sunday we mostly ate a breakfast meal. We all had a very good high quality meals. The service was very good.

Very disappointed with this restaurant. The food was overpriced and the quality was terrible. The chicken tasted boiled, not grilled, and we ended up eating only the bread. Definitely not worth the money.

There were nine of us for dinner last night and 6 of us ordered Striploin steaks. All of the six steak were displeased with their steaks. Personally, I wish I had a chainsaw to get thru mine.

Although the service and atmosphere were both fantastic, I wasn't super impressed with the food for the price. It may just be a personal preference on choice of flavour combinations however, as the quality and freshness was great.

Was once a fantastic 4 diamond hotel amazing service, not so much anymore.
Over 1.5 hr for breakfast order.
Food was not good. Ordered eggs Benedict Service was terrible had 2 bites and walked away.

Spoke the to manager explaining the situation hopefully he went and apologized for the lack of service lack of waiters to help expedite the food, not 1 food quality check.

I would expect better from Brookstreet.

I can’t say enough good things about Perspectives Restaurant at Brookstreet! From start to finish, our experience was absolutely wonderful.
Booking was a breeze—the online reservation system is simple and straightforward, and we were able to secure a perfect patio table without any hassle. When we arrived, the hostess greeted us warmly, got us seated right away, and made sure we were comfortable. It set such a positive tone for the evening.
And then—Emmanuel, our server. Wow, wow, wow. He was absolutely incredible! So knowledgeable, genuinely kind, and perfectly attentive. He struck that rare balance of being present and checking in often without ever making us feel rushed. It felt like he truly cared about our experience, which made the evening that much more enjoyable.
The cocktails were outstanding. Often with hotel restaurants you expect something standard, but these drinks were next level—beautifully made, well-balanced, and so refreshing. Truly some of the best cocktails I’ve had anywhere.
As for the food, everything was spot-on. We ordered the lobster roll and the Mediterranean shrimp bowl, and both dishes were delicious. The portions were just right—filling and satisfying without being overly heavy. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared, and the presentation was just as impressive as the flavours.
The atmosphere ties it all together. The patio was spotless, breezy, and comfortable, with a beautiful view of the golf course. It felt relaxed yet elevated, making it the perfect spot for a date night, special occasion, or even a girls’ day out.
Overall, Perspectives exceeded our expectations in every way. From the easy booking process to the outstanding service, phenomenal cocktails, and fresh, delicious food, it’s a restaurant that deserves so much more recognition. We left happy, impressed, and already looking forward to our next visit.

This was fine dining? I hope they would reclassify that as it sure wasn’t. The quality of food and setting wasn’t that great. Any avg OTTAWA restaurant would have served better quality food. Wasn’t happy from the experience so won’t be returning . Avoid , that’s my recommendation.

Good service and ambiance is okay. Food… we took the best plates as we were celebrating a special event and wanted to enjoy ourselves . Wish we didn’t. We got the lobster scallops dish each, along w side of mushrooms. It was not great but we ate it, and I wish we stopped and didn’t . The cream they used was so heavy , and the mixing w brown lentils was awful addition. we got full after the first two bites. Nothing was wow tasty , presentation was mediocre. I think they need to reclassify this restaurant.

Not only that but we were feeling unwell after and the next morning . Stomach was not happy we didn’t want to eat anything.

Never again absolute waste of 200$, wish I read reviews before going or ordered a pizza . The gluten and dairy would have sat better than that.

My wife and I booked a night at the hotel and I thought would be a very special dinner. Boy was I wrong. The hotel is very nice but as far as Perspective restaurant food was pretty terrible. My wife had the lobster tail and scallops. The scallops were just okay and the lobster tail was very small and tasted horrible. I had the steak which was just okay (not much flavour though). For desert we shared an apple crisp which did not taste very much like apple. It was mostly a dough and sugar.
Definitely not on my list as an upclass restaurant to go back to.

Don't order the Huevos Rancheros, they are very disappointing and not Mexican style at all, they were probably made by the whitest person in the world that only opened cans that were bought in the 'mexican' section in the grocery store.

But the service was very nice and the other dishes looked much better.

Any pretense of cuisine is a joke.

Funny, I was just reading one of the recent reviews that mentioned the excellent service offered by Edouardo only to look up at our waiter's name tag to notice that Eduardo was our waiter too! We had a long day - so greatly appreciated the good food, service, and relaxing dinner music.
