butter tarts, butter tarts, butter tarts…… I can’t get enough of the butter tarts. The Riverside inn has definitely put norland on the map with the fantastic service and great atmosphere. At first me and my slightly intoxicated friends walk in with no expectation. We were very sceptical, considering we were getting (out of town looks) and were feeling judged. That very quickly changed after the friendly server came over and took our order. Food came fairly quick but the highlight of the night was was the amazing butter tarts. So amazing that we came back 4 days in a row! The owner gave us extra on the last night for coming so much. If I’m ever back, this place is our go to!!

We made a phone reservation 10 days ahead and we were seated on arrival. Service was ok although the waitress was not the friendly type in fact almost curt. As though she was doing us a favor. My hamburger was a bit dry (waitress didn't ask me how I wanted it done) and my son's gluten free chicken dish had 2 or 3 strips of chicken. See Pic. When the bill was brought the same waitress suggested I tip. I would have anyway and did but the demand was annoying.

My husband and I celebrated our 43rd Anniversary on May 15th and decided to return to Riverside Inn in Norland Ontario. We celebrated our 25th there in 2007 with our 2 children (well they took us ) 18 years ago. This resteraunt is so full of charm treating us like family. Sheila Jo and Nancy were so pleasant not to mention our meal was delicious. I brought in my photo album from our 25th and showed it to Jo. She was so taken with it she asked Mike to come and he talked to us. We chatted and remininced and then he offered to buy us our dessert. Very kind. I plan to return to show Vicki the album. Thankyou Riverside for a very memorable anniversay truly a 'family' resteraunt.

My partner and I needed a quick bite for the road and opted to call in to order a handheld lunch. Chicken club wrap was exceptional. I expected the chicken would be dry, but it was perfect. Well balanced and seasoned overall. Reuben was also aces, tho I could give them too marks if they offered Russian or thousand island dressing instead of mustard. Highly recommend.

Went here as a big group of 6 and no one was disappointed! Beautiful ambience, really good service and superb food! Everything was so delicious. 10/10 would recommend! Bonus - they have an EV charger!

We had our Christmas lunch there today, the food was excellent and our waitress was wonderful. Most of us had the Thursday special, schnitzel with gravy, mashed potato and salad, very 👍

I'm giving this a low rating due to the server, not the food as the food was great. Our server was very unpleasant, rushed our meal, and brought the bill without even offering dessert or coffee. What was supposed to be a nice dinner for 4 was ruined by this server's shifty disposition. Maybe retire if you hate the job that much, just saying!
