Boathouse Lakeside Grill Reviews
Visited BoatHouse on August 29, 2025 with a party of 5. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The server was slow and inattentive. I ordered the Seafood Fra Diavolo. I also requested some tabasco. After waiting for 10 minutes it was finally brought to the table in a small ramekin.
Upon reviewing our bill I noticed at the bottom there was a charge of $1.50 for the tabasco. I asked the server about this charge. She curtly informed me it was restaurant policy. Well that certainly...read full review

Boathouse Lakeside Grill offers delicious food with generous portions and excellent service. Menu highlights include fish and chips, house salad, Caesar salad, French onion soup, bacon cheese sliders, wedge salad, lobster ravioli, lobster bisque, and Seafood Fra Diavolo. The lobster ravioli has a huge portion with a nice kick of spice in the rose sauce, cooked perfectly. A rare NY Strip steak was exactly as it should have been. The food is amazing with some special delicacies.
Service is attentive, friendly, funny, and professional. The timing of the food is dead on, and drinks are checked on regularly. The restaurant has an excellent location on the lake in Kenora with a nice view from the dining room. It is quite possibly the best way to spend a summer lunch or dinner in Kenora.
Note for guests with accessibility issues: there is no accessibility parking near the door, and guests must travel over rock covered ground to the entrance. The parking lot is a fair distance away with walking up/down hill. Guests can be dropped off at the restaurant level but still must roll or walk over rocky terrain. Inside the restaurant, there is room for maneuvering. Also, do not park in the Shoppers DM parking lot, as cars may get towed. The restaurant has dedicated stalls to the north of Shoppers.
