Walked in for lunch, beautiful tavern style restaraunt. Seemed like there was a meeting going on in the kitchen. Didnt recieve any service or see anyone for 10 minutes so I left. My appetite will bring me back, my experience with the service will leave me hesitant.

We decided to check out Black Dog Tavern for the first time after hearing good things, and we were excited to try their happy hour. Unfortunately, when we arrived, the server let us know they aren’t offering happy hour this week with no explanation. There was no mention of this on their social media or at the restaurant itself, which was disappointing. We ended up leaving to go elsewhere. It’s always nice when places communicate these types of changes clearly , hopefully next time if we decide to give it another try in the future. Luckily Kingston has lots of other great options!

We celebrated my husbands birthday, dinner for two. We shared the full size kale ceasar salad with roasted chick peas and gluten free. The truffled chicken dinner and scallop, pork belly risotto were delicious. Their bartender makes great classic margaritas too. McKenzie our server was friendly and attentative to my gluten free needs. It always feels safe eating gluten free here. The chef plans to put their gluten free fish n chips back on the menu soon, they are delicious. Looking forward to that. Its so difficult to find gluten free fish n chips. We will be back.

Literally didnt even eat here, went in to have lunch and was told the restaurant was closed for the day, on a monday, no update on google not even a sign up at the front, i would understand a Sunday if they were training new staff but why a monday? Terrible business practice, cant even eat on a weekday lol

My husband and I stopped by at around 3:00pm on a Saturday. We were seated immediately and we chose to sit on the back patio. It was quite beautiful with all their floral baskets and comfortable seating. He ordered the halibut and a Gutenberg and I ordered a half sandwich with the salad and fries as well as a sangria. It was so good!!! We will for sure be back! Next time, brunch!

Great atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, and they do a great steak. My niece who is celiac loved the gluten-free fish and chips and they know to take this seriously as even a little cross contamination can make her very ill. Thank you Black Dog, keep up the great work.
