For those asking - yes the buffet is back! It's great, even better than I remember. Lots of selection - wings, rice, SS chicken, honey garlic spareribs, honey garlic weiners (?), onion rings, ice cream, fortune cookies, fruit, egg rolls, and much more. Lunch time is still cheaper. Quality of food was good. Service for drinks was good.
1000x better than the two other Chinese buffets in New Minas, especially post-pandemic. Attached the buffet prices as of November 2024 but could change in future.

We try to get here at least once when we visit the area. The egg rolls are superb.

My favorite Chinese food to date but the poor waitress was run off her feet both times I've been there and she's so nice. Downside is cross contamination if you happen to have an allergy or specific diet be cautious I ordered all veggie dishes and found chunks of chicken in it which I didn't love to see but picked them out.

I recently fell in love with this restaurant. Started bringing my friends and family here. We Travel for over an hour just to come enjoy this restaurant.
That changed today as I went in with my friend. I ordered off the menu for myself, and ordered a takeout order as well. My friend got buffet. As I’m eating, my friend is up at the buffet. One of the owners was standing by the cash, kept looking in my direction. I did not think anything of this. A few moments later, the waitress comes over to me and says the owner saw me eating a chicken ball off of my friends plate and that if I eat off her plate from the buffet, I’ll need to pay extra.
I’m appalled as I don’t find it’s right to accuse me of eating off of my friends plate when I did not.
I ordered my own plate, and I ordered a take out order . I did give MY egg roll to my friend. When I told the waitress I certainly did not eat off of my friends plate, she seemed to really not believe me.
I didn’t appreciate this at all. Being watched like a criminal from across the room and then accused of something I didn’t do.

Not a welcoming feeling.

Exactly what I expect from China village. Enjoyed it as usual. The buffet was good. It is middle of the road canadianized chinese food. The price increase has made the buffet a little bit less worthwhile unless you really stuff yourself, versus getting a big plate or a combo with extra sides. Either way still enjoy it in spite of the increase.

Good staff. I enjoy the variety of the buffet. The previous time I got the Imperial Chicken and it was simply amazing and very filling. The buffet is really only worth it if you're going to eat two heaping playes or more.

Photos are of the buffet food i ate for 24+tax and a tip for the attentive server. Very pleasant staff.

My only criticism is the spring rolls are probably the worst I've tasted at any restaurant. I've given them a few shots and for some reason they always tastes bad but I don't recall them tasting bad a few years ago. I enjoy everything else there besides the spring rolls. Don't let this criticism dissuade you. It's one small item

The price of Chicken Fried Rice and Beef fried rice at this restaurant are the exact same price, yet when ordering a combination plate, they charge $2 if you prefer beef fried rice instead of chicken fried rice This is greatly taking advantage of people. They can't say that they have to make it special per order, either. I worked for several Chinese restaurants and know that the meats and rice are made in advance and thrown into the wok, as needed. Some places don't deserve my business and this is one of them. This "apparent policy" leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I for one, don't believe in this kind of business practice.

The food was okay but the service was terrible. The server rushed my order when I was not ready, she wasn’t very accommodating when I was looking for vegetarian options and I found a piece of chicken in my meal. She also forgot a beer for the table and did not apologize or the inconvenience. Would not recommend.

The waitress was great and the place was nice. Both my partner and myself felt sick a couple of hours later and the price is ridiculous. Wasn't impressed.

I have used this restaurant before but will never go again.
The food is okay but the attitude of the management is very poor.
Any reviews that are high on this restaurant are people that didn’t have an issue no matter how small.
They don’t handle or deal with problems well.
I had a large order for take out and they missed an item from it.
When I let them know it was missing they said it was my order that had been placed incorrectly or gave the implication I was trying to get something I hadn’t ordered and not their fault.
We are talking a sweet a sour chicken and rice. I had just paid for the 259.00 order!
