Halibut House Fish and Chips Kingston Ontario

Over loaded plates of awesome tasting foods for great prices! My family usually dines here twice a month for dinner, although, we came for breakfast the other day and we'll definitely be dining here once a week from now on.😋😋😋

I have been back and forth about writing a review, if it wasn't for the food part they would be 5 star all around. The staff were super sweet and friendly the place was clean. But I had been craving fish and shrimp for a while and my daughter wanted BK, I pull into bk and lucky us halibut house. I knew I was going to pay dearly because all I wanted was 1 piece of fish and some battered shrimp (I didn't want the fries and extras) so I looked on the menu and I was so happy to see "shrimp for 2" and it was something like $11 or $12 but "shrimp for 2" it's well worth it.. the single piece of fish was around the same price point but for the one piece of fish and the"shrimp for 2' was approx $25. When I got the order I was so excited and life was good but that was fleeting, I opened the "shrimp for 2" and they were def a good size and they tasted great but I think the total in the pack was 4 or 5 (pic included) this was extremely disappointing. I decided to check the fish and things only got sadder the ends of the battered fish were so hard it couldn't have been eaten, the few spots I was able to eat that were not extremely overcooked and dry actually was extremely good. However the majority of the fish was so dry (pic included you can see almost in the center no batter and the meat under is dried out) at majority time couldn't be chewed or felt like you we eating bones. To top it off there was no lemon or salt n pepper in with the order but I did get vinegar, both white and malt, seafood sauce, tartar sauce, ... So the service is awesome and the people are sweet, location is lovely but as for quality, quantity and price even though seafood is expensive was high

Quick, Good food, good price. The fish to batter ratio could be a bit better with a larger piece of fish but overall we were satisfied with the food and would go again

My girlfriend and I were going to go to stacked for breakfast the lineup was out the door at stacked we're getting ready to leave we seen the halibut house and that they had a breakfast special we went in we were not disappointed in any way shape or form the place is absolutely amazing the food was phenomenal portions were huge staff were super attentive always there when we needed them prices were phenomenal I give it 10 Stars

Great fish . Nice portion perfectly cooked. Excellent fries. Will be back and can't wait to sit in the beautiful dining room. Finally a great fish and chip sit down restaurant in Kingston.

Overall just freaking great

First visit to this restaurant. My wife and I both had halibut and found the order was light on fish and heavy on batter. This of course is a personal preference. Very friendly server. Will not return.

The food was excellent, the batter was light and tasty. Neither the fish nor the fries were oily. The portions were great, especially for the price. I had the halibut (special of the day) and my wife had the cod. Both were great. The staff were very friendly. Will definitely go again.

Parking: Strip mall parking lot. Plenty of parking.
