Excellent service, very friendly staff and delicious coffee. Learnt a lot from the patient gentleman who explained the roasting process. Flat white was the best.

North Roast used to be a fresh coffee delivery service. Then the problems started creeping in. They wouldn't deliver to your door unless you called and asked. They promised to call or text when the drive came by, but the driver never did.

So when the coffee start being delivery is 5,6,7 days old every week, and they tell you that they roast every day (or other day), it is disappointing when then don't even offer to replace it. They will cancel your subscription if you ask for something fresher.

The common pattern here is, "if you have a problem, find a different coffee roaster." So you better not call or be cancelled.

Yelled at? No staff was yelled at on the phone. I asked for freshly roasted coffee. If you roast every day, this was a reasonable ask that could have been accommodated. Especially considering that you admitted fault. It was never offered as an option for being delivered a bag from a week ago.

You did indeed offer an inspection, multiple times; as the only alternative. I'm not sure why, that isn't providing freshly roasted coffee. Requiring a customer to go out of their way for your mistake to believe you, when the express purpose of ordering delivery is to have it delivered, is not something that I understand.

You have made it clear that you will not deliver freshly roasted coffee so we can wrap things up with one last question.

Do you honor the points accumulated over the years for redemption?

Please let me know.

Like their coffee but over time their delivery service has deteriorated; their driver no longer reads the delivery instructions meaning the coffee gets left at our front door which is very close to a busy sidewalk. As we no longer trust their delivery we now only pickup their coffee when we are in that part of the city which is not often.

Came out of my way to visit this shop during my visit to Kingston because I was encouraged by all the reviews here & because I enjoy coffee & wanted to support a local business. From the moment I stepped in I was surprised by the attitude of the staff. Everybody working here seemed uninterested & no effort was made whatsoever. The person working up front was so condescending, that I didn't even bother to ask questions & about the coffee I was thinking of buying & was put off purchasing altogether. I still ordered a drink though & same person continued talking down to me even when taking my order. This place really has no clue about customer service. If you're in the business of selling a product, the very least you could do is make an effort to be welcoming & pleasant to the people walking through your doors. As for the coffee itself: I was hoping it would make up for the poor customer service, but honesty it was just ordinary.

Amazing coffee. I’m so glad we stopped by, my only concern is that other coffee is going to taste bad in comparison to the latte I had from here. Even my husband who dislikes coffee thought it was good. Really friendly and helpful service as well.

Vegetarian options: Vegan milk available at no up charge.

Stopped in to grab a coffee and ended up with the best latte I've had in ages. Perfectly balanced, not too acidic. So good!!

Mediocre at best. Attendant only gave me a blank stare when I said I was looking for a light city roast, so I had to take my chances and pick Northern Lights off the board.Boring and bland! Beans had almost no oil left to them. Have to grind it almost to espresso size and brew at 12 to 1 just to minimize the sour undertone.I euofvhsve been better off buying twice the amount of Presidents Choice coffee for less money.I challenge all Kingstonian coffee lovers to compare what these folks are calling Premium Coffee at $20.00/lb to what an actual Premium roaster like Cookes has on offer for the same or less $$$

Stopped in to pick up some beans as I'm always happy with the product here. Got some lovely Colombian micro lot for my pour over coffees in the morning. Got an espresso and was quite happy with it, they pulled a lovely shot for me. Happy to support a great business with great products and great service.

In October my partner and I got our very own espresso machine and immediately decided that we wanted to start using locally roasted beans for our machine. We tried North Roast and never looked back! Love the fact that they are local, fair trade, and use compostable bags. We've tried a few different roasts, but our favorite is definitely Northern Lights. We have ordered our beans both online and gone in person and each was a smooth and simple process. The fact that if you order before 10 am and they deliver same day is amazing if you're in a pinch! All the employees are so kind and helpful. We hope to continue purchasing their beans for the foreseeable future!
