I’ve eaten at hundreds of restaurants, and this one was a major disappointment across the board. To be fair, our server was polite and respectful, but the overall service and food still fell far below expectations.
From the moment we walked in, the place felt outdated. The lighting, table setup, and overall atmosphere did not resemble fine dining in any sense.
We waited a long time just to have our orders taken, then another one to two hours for the food to arrive. Dishes came out sporadically, with some guests waiting even longer. No one checked in to ask how our meals were, which is common practice at any place, and during the entire three to four hours we were there, our water was only refilled once.
The food itself was poor. The rice was undercooked, my fish tasted unpleasant, and several of us experienced severe diarrhea afterward, likely from food poisoning. The burger meat was raw and pink, and they messed up one of the orders by serving fries instead of salad.
This was my mother’s special 60th birthday dinner, which made the experience even more disappointing. Everyone dressed up and traveled from out of the city to be there, only to be met with subpar service and bad food. They seemed aware of how lackluster things were and offered free dessert, but for eight guests they brought out three tiny deserts with no plates. We had to pass them around and pick at them, which was embarrassing and felt cheap rather than elegant.
Most of my restaurant reviews are positive, and I prefer to be polite, but this was on another level entirely. I genuinely wish the best for our server, who was a kind man, but I am shocked this restaurant is still operating. We will not be returning, and I would strongly advise others to avoid it.

One of the worst meals I have ever had. How to describe what was like the end of a warmed up tray of a corner piece on the Eggs of the Day. It was a piece 2 inches x 3 inches of the last piece in a tray with the outside over cooked, yet somehow served cold. Only thing good about the meal was the $10.00 can of SteamWhistle, hard to mess that up.

We got married at the River Mill in May and it was a great experience. The service was exceptional and all the staff did a great job making sure the wedding was just how we wanted it. We particularly appreciated that the staff let us wait until the last minute to decide to have our ceremony outside, as it had been raining on and off throughout the day, and we so appreciated being able to have our ceremony outside that day. We had many comments from guests about the beautiful venue and the high quality of the service and the food.
This one of the best Restaurants I’ve eaten at in Kingston the food was delicious and the service outstanding and the atmosphere was classy. The Appy hour specials provide affordable food and drinks in N elegant classy restaurant I highly recommend this place for any couple looking for an enjoyable dinner and a nice night out.

We had lunch yesterday. It was a lovely venue. The waiter was fantastic. I was disappointed in the food. I ordered the braised tenderloin sandwich which was very tough. Definitely not braised tender like you would expect. Good way to ruin a piece of tenderloin if that is what it was. The side salad was good My husband had fish and chips which he enjoyed. I would go back again but order something different
