We had lunch yesterday. It was a lovely venue. The waiter was fantastic. I was disappointed in the food. I ordered the braised tenderloin sandwich which was very tough. Definitely not braised tender like you would expect. Good way to ruin a piece of tenderloin if that is what it was. The side salad was good My husband had fish and chips which he enjoyed. I would go back again but order something different

On June 20, 2025 in the morning, we held an interment service for my Mom. I made a reservation well in advance to have a luncheon at River Mill after my Mom's service. The weather was beautiful! When we arrived, they were not ready for us. We confirmed thirty-five guests, and there were only three 4 x 4 tables set up in a small, drab room. We tried to address the issue right away with Colin, but he stonewalled us. Colin stated that we reserved a “standing reception”, and he saw that our guests were elderly. Some of them even had walkers. We were told that there would be candles on the tables, and there was nothing on the tables. We were crammed up in this room at a riverfront restaurant with a view of the parking lot, and there was no offer to seat us somewhere else. The main dining area was sparsely occupied, and the outside deck area was vacant also. Colin is the owner. He didn’t seem interested in making us pleased with our experience. Anthony, our server, did an excellent job trying to make our family and friends comfortable and happy. I planned this event from Florida for my parents’ Canadian family and friends. I made the arrangements with Colin. I put a lot of thought and time into hosting a nice event. It is unfortunate that I was shocked and embarrassed in front of my Canadian family and friends.

A quiet gem of a restaurant with wonderful cuisine and ambience, in a beautiful, quiet setting by the river. We've been coming here for years, and our son and his fiance chose it for their wedding venue. The wedding was held on June 7/25 - there 80 people in attendance. Honestly, we cannot think of a single thing we would change. The food was delicious (mains were lamb shank, salmon and chicken), the service was perfect, and the atmosphere was beautiful. We had great weather so we made good use of the outdoor patio (where the vows were done earlier in the day). I was concerned the space might be a bit small for 80, but we could easily have managed more. I cannot express how happy we were all were - the staff here are simply the best - clearly they love their work and we could tell how important it was to each and every one of them to make this day special. Mission accomplished! I might also add - given the level of service, the private and luxurious setting, and gourmet cuisine - quite affordable!
