This location charges extra for maple syrup. Last time I checked we are in Canada where maple syrup is the default. It just feels gross and like nickel and dimming. Just build the cost of the maple syrup into the order? I’ve been to other sunset grills in Toronto and this one definitely feels more corporate and not the atmosphere you’d expect from sunset grills. It’s a shame because I was so excited about this place opening in Kingston but the food is average and not worth the cost.

Terrible ownership/management. No respect for employees. In the last 2 and a half months they have gone through 9 employees. Regularly understaffed because he does not want to pay employees for more than a 3 hour shift. Expects employees to be on call, otherwise will have disciplinary action or be let go.
Employees are expected to pay for any bills that didn't go through on machines, and pay for anything that they break by accident(the little tea cups they used for coffee cups are priced at 15$ for employees).
He also refills the freshly squeezed orange juice containers with extra pulp orange juice from Costco. A glass of Costco orange juice is charged as a 7$ glass of freshly squeezed when it is not.
If you have any other options, I suggest boycotting this restaurant. I am flabbergasted that head office has not already closed down this location. He is also the owner for the store in Cornwall.
I stopped at this sunset grill location for a late brunch September the 12th. I ordered chicken breast with 3 eggs homefries and toast. It was great as well as the service. It was exactly what I was expecting having been to other locations.

Service was good and Ria was the only one on so it was busy. But manager did crap all when we were there until we started cleaning off tables for the poor waitress who was the only one on. He just sat there and did nothing about it didn’t run out of food or anything when it was ready . He just sat in back having coffee. If you wanna run a business

I never feel compelled to write negative reviews, however I feel my experience today warrants one. My boyfriend and I went here today for his birthday, we have been a few times and had enjoyed it. I ordered poached eggs, and he ordered over easy eggs, and it took an hour and a half for our food to be served to us, because it had been sitting under the heat lamp for almost 30 minutes while our server stood near the cash, not even serving anyone. We watched as plates went out around ours as the servers picked them up immediately, and ours continued to sit. When our server walked by, I asked him what the time was on our food, and he told us 5 more minutes, while our food continued to sit and go bad under the heat lamp. Everyone around us (who was sat long after us) had been served and had almost finished their food. When he finally decided he had the time to actually serve us our food, our eggs were rubber, and the hollandaise sauce had developed a film due to sitting for such a prolonged period of time. It’s beyond me how that is considered even remotely acceptable to serve someone, especially considering how long we had already been waiting. We couldn’t eat our food, and had been there so long that we didn’t have time to wait for new food to be cooked, so we just had to leave without eating any breakfast at all. The other servers were running off their feet, so no fault to them or the cooks, but our server was absolutely terrible and essentially ruined our perception of this restaurant, and wasted an hour and a half of our day. Sadly won’t be returning.

Tried to go for breakfast with a group of 6 (kids, parents, grandparents) There were 4 tables seated in the restaurant, the other approximate 15 tables were empty.
We couldn’t be seated together, because the manager wouldn’t allow two tables to be pushed together.
The best part was the manager sent the server to tell us we couldn’t be seated together while he starred at us from the kitchen.
Can’t comment on the food or service, we didn’t get that far.

Service was friendly and quick. Enjoyed my meal and they were able to accommodate my gluten intolerance by substituting for gfree bread. Will definitely be back.
