Delay of food was not good, first person finished, others still waiting. Sashimi was tough, hot food

The restaurant is nice and has both Korean and Japanese foods. Today I got the Shuroop Ramen, and while the toppings were tasty and generous, I am pretty sure the noodles were actually Chinese mein noodles, which is a different texture and colour. I’d like to return to try the bingsu soon though!

I loved their shaved Ice and their kindness. Sushi was quite big. Was surprised specially every thing is expensive these days.

Paid $7 for 4 of the tiniest nuggets to ever be called takoyaki. Felt like a slap in the face. The sushi wasn't bad, though.

Found this place by accident but so glad we did. Was just driving thru Kingston and decided to stop and grab dinner. Sunday night and not many places were open. Happy to have stumbled upon this restaurant. The server was so friendly and service was fast. Food was yummy. Ramen hit the spot. Sushi was fresh. Katsu was juicy and crispy.

I ordered a sashimi combo, a sushi combo, and a few maki for a family gathering and picked up. Although the name has changed, their food is always fresh and feels good. Thank you Jimmy and Veronica!

Formally sushibar da, also formally maru, now called shuroop (umbrella in korean). Uninspired, bland, Korean take on Japanese food. I had the spicy miso ramen. It was god awful. Cold boiled egg, poorly presented pork slices, grocery store flavoured miso broth, you can really see the lack of effort in their cooking. I’m assuming the same owner decided to rename the restaurant because of poor foot traffic. Same menu, over priced, underperforming. Dated decor, dusty, and filthy floors, and stop it with the plastic dish displays out front, no one wants to see that. Head to sushiya zen, pho chopstick, or souel to soul.

Very delicious and tasty asian food, and the very nice couple who owns this little restaurant are very respectful and warm. We should help and patronize local businesses like this. Our new favourite asian restaurant. To add to that, the prices are very reasonable and affordable.

If you are thinking about sushi this is the right place for you. The best sushi restaurant in Kinston! I was traveling for a business and actually already tried some Japanese restaurants in the area. I finally leave a review here. The owner and staff are very friendly and kind. I was thinking about menu but a staff recommended her favourite. I really enjoyed the food.

Did an Uber eats order, and the salmon poke we ordered was probably the worst one I’ve ever had. The rice was probably the best thing in it (which says a lot considering it was on the dry side and absolutely soulless). The salmon was definitely far from “sushi” quality, and I had a hard time swallowing it while trying my best to avoid it touching any of my taste buds cause it was just plain bad, but I was rly hungry. The combination of crab stick and bad salmon was very interesting in the worst way possible, I will never forget how much their respective tastes fought over which one will leave a worse aftertaste. The seaweed and cucumber were warm?? Like, I don’t understand how lukewarm rice is able to warm the rest of the ingredients to the worst possible temperature known to mankind.I’m genuinely reconsidering my love for sushi/poke right now because of the abomination I’ve been exposed to. Granted, maybe I’m overreacting because the dish left me hungry (also very unhappy and confused), but I’ll definitely avoid ordering online from them in the future.

One of the best ramen places in Kingston. I highly recommend this restaurant and the owner is so kind:)) I would definitely come again with my friends. It is worth of price.

My friend and I split the regular size ingeolmi bingsu; it was pretty filling and the flavour was great—loved the addition of red bean! The owners were so so nice; we had a great conversation with them! I would definitely recommend :)
