Honestly food never disappoints. I rarely come for drinks anymore but even those are awesome of course. Back patio is prob my favourite in Kingston, beautiful limestone and such an Irish pub feel with the decor and the awesome mural out back.

I had never been to Canada. My in-laws decided we should go, and we went to Kingston. I decided I wanted to go to this restaurant. There was not a lot of people, granted it was a Tuesday, and we sat outside.
I got the lunch menu, half pub sub and a salad. The Pub Sub was soo good...a chicken sandwich with bacon...wow. I had the side salad. I was not used to NOT being asked what salad dressing I wanted and I am SO glad I wasn't. Although everything I had there was delicious, that salad was probably life changing. The waitress said it was a creamy balsamic vinaigrette and I am out to get that shit!!!

Stopped by with family from out of town. The place is a Kingston staple, but tonight the host and server were both impatient, rude and snippy. Not like kingston doesnt have a plethora of restaurants so we packed up and went elsewhere.

I am shocked at my experience at the Toucan. The meaning of customer service was absent from the room this evening. After walking into the dark building around 9 pm, unaware they wanted to seat us first and I couldn’t just grab a table, the front of staff host was incredibly rude. I walked back to the front and apologized profusely after which he offered in a condescending tone for us to “try this again” proceeding to seat us far from where we had originally walked to sit, stating “it was the best he could give us” once again in a condescending tone and with multiple open tables available. I cannot speak to the quality of the food nor drink today as I chose not to stay. Maybe it was a one-off experience or they were having a bad day, regardless, I hope management re-evaluates the service they provide.

Cut off after a drink and a shot. Asked for a tall to finish off but was declined. Probably should check your BAC charts again because thats a bit out of pocket. Got food as well.
I do have a mental/ physical ailment. which comes off maybe odd to servers. However overall didnt feel welcome or well taken care of.
Would like to talk to management.
