An absolute gem! The best German restaurant in Kitchener. Classic atmosphere and genuine and friendly service. A must try if you love some good German cuisine. The beef rouladen is incredible.

The Schenke Restaurant was incredible - service was fast & friendly, food was so flavourful and the portions were massive. I had the chicken schnitzel with mushroom gravy (served with these nutmeg seasoned mash which paired perfectly), my wife had the beef rouladin with spaetzle and braised cabbage, and this was mind-blowingly good too! We finished with the Black Forest torte, with real whipped cream and not too sweet (the European way). Everything was perfect - definitely need to come here more often!

I went there yesterday for a lunch. The atmoshere and service were great, but my meal I received (gulash soup) was not good. It looked and tasted like a thick, dark sauce with a couple of meat pieces. I expected something better.

Horrible experience this year. I invited some friends to this event to celebrate my 28 years wedding anniversary. There were 11 of us. At one point one of my friends stepped on the bench to video record the dancers that were entertaining the crowd, because of the obstructed view. He was immediately removed by the security, without any warning (of which I have a video recording) and banned from returning. It turns out that there was a sign hanging, which my friend did not see, that no one could stand on the bench. I reviewed the terms of the agreement (which is my ticket) and went to see the security guards to discuss the matter and explain my point of view. They were extremely rude to me, refused to provide their names, mocked me for being Ukrainian and banned me from the premises just because I wanted to discuss the matter. All 11 of our friends left. We will never be returning there again. Moreover, I will advise all of my clients to never go to this event.

Have been wanting to eat here for a long time! Finally got there with my wife and we were not disappointed. Great atmosphere, staff and the food was fantastic! I had the goulash to start and the platter as my main… needed a take home container as the portions are great. We drove over one hour to eat here and we will do it again! Also, the Weissbier was delicious.
