Under fake aliases, they settled in Upper Canada, bided and waited, and in time, The Lancaster Smokehouse was born.That was all made up, but this food isn’t.Large carb portions and some delicious southern BBQ, it scratches an itch a lot of us have; to form an unrequited tryst with gluttony.The Nashville chicken was juicy and spicy, the tater tots are out of this world, and the other meats were solid (I would just avoid the ribs).”

“Small operation located in a 4 store residential area. Nice selection of burgers or chicken (mild to spicy) along with fries and rings. Oh and they also have dessert. The food was tasty, fresh and right off the grill. They must be doing something right because this place bustles during meal time hours.”

“The food was decent. The atmosphere is cold and could use some love… a picture on the wall or some candles? The waiter seated us in the back corner at the worst possible table even though the restaurant was not busy and we had made reservations days in advance. Also extremely disappointing that they have no gluten free pasta dishes or pizza. Probably wouldn’t bother going back for that reason as there are very few options for me.”

Said the seafood pasta had a kick to it - it did not. He said the soup wasn’t chunky - it was. We also ordered a negroni which we watched him make and to my surprise it tasted nothing like a negroni & came with a dried orange wheel?.. Besides the service our food was amazing and the ambiance is great for date nights. None the less I’ll be back - hopefully sitting in the dining room with an actual negroni (for that price) and a server who just simply asks for assistance instead of lying.”

“We were a group that tried almost one of everything on the menu. Escargot, Caesar Salad, Lamb, Duck, Coq au vin, Scallops, a beautiful French wine and to finish Creme Brulee, Coffee and Cognac. It was all so good. The flavours were out of this world. And the service couldn't be better. I wish I remembered the name of the lady that served us. She was very well informed and very attentive. Our compliments to the chef for some amazing food.”

From the dips (hummus, muhammarah and baba ganoush), salad and the grilled meats, everything was superb. Oh and one of the best parts was definitely the freshly made pita breads! A very nice side of fries accompanied the impressive sandwich.Salted caramel cheesecake topped off the meal. This sweet treat was as good, if not better, than it sounds.Our knowledgeable and friendly Server kept my Diet Coke replenished without being asked. This kind of intuitive service is always appreciated.”

We had one person in our group with an allergy and the manager went out of his way to accommodate it. Service was great and the waitress was friendly. It was a bit noisy bc of screaming kids but that's not their fault. Will definitely be back again for half price wings”

At least this time they remembered to put a turnover in the bag. I've had them forget a couple times before. I was quite clear and polite when I ordered. Note: a large industrial complex is being built across the street so this place is going to be real, real busy and the owner is going to be swimming in donuts of bliss. ?”
“I just want to say I was very happy with my visit here today. We came to Tim's because we had a bad experience with McDonald's. When we were here we were informed that they were out of hashbrowns. The girl working the food counter, Melody, automatically took charge and asked us if we wanted wedges instead and extra bacon on the farmers wrap. I was extremely impressed with her professionalism, courtesy, and willingness to go the extra mile. She deserves a raise or promotion. Very happy with my experience today.”
“Our favourite Tim Hortons. Seating is very limited at this location, but the staff are amazing. My wife and I have never had a bad ice coffee, or London Fog, at this location. The location can be quite busy at times, so it's natural that tables are not always clean when we arrive, but staff are always pleasant about cleaning the tables. Every time we visit, the staff are always hustling. Several of the staff recognize us, and always have a big smile when we arrive. Thanks for all your great work!”

Our fish portions were large and cooked to perfection. The fries were amazing and the coleslaw was very tasty. The tartar sauce had to be homemade as it was yummy.This was our first time but hands down this will be our go to place for our Good Friday dinner.”

“Stopped in for lunch to have some papusas and birria tacos and everything about it was fantastic. If you have never had a papusa you should go and try them as soon as possible. Papusas are not Mexican food, they are El Salvadoran so you probably have not tried these before. They are like thick corn flour pancake stuffed with cheese, pork, beans, etc. They are $4 each so it's pretty low risk to try them. Great service from very friendly people that make you feel welcome. I love this place.”

“This is one of the best breweries in Kitchener/Waterloo and Cambridge. Personally, it's one of the few breweries in Canada that come across entirely personable and incredibly welcoming to everyone. The owner is extremely helpful, enthusiast, and well-knowledgeable about all areas of their business. The available beers will rotate, so often you can try a variety of different delicious beers throughout the year but still pick up their staples which are absolutely fantastic (make sure to do yourself a favour and grab some Lando!) The prices are fair, the areas are clean/well managed, and I have never encountered an issue with the mulitple times I have attended this establishment whether if it was for concerts, going with friends or just stopping in for a beer after work. It is one of the few places I know that not only an adult can enjoy, but kids are welcome with their parents and even dogs, too! I wish there were more places like Short Finger Brewing Co. in Kitchener/Waterloo/Cambridge, but I am extremely happy we have this place as not only do they support the Region of Waterloo at every opportunity but host a number of events for Arts community and more. I know if I stop in, it'll never be for a quick visit because it feels like a home away from home. And honestly, I love that.”

“From start to finish - planning our wedding at Abe Erb (Kitchener, Charles St location) was a very stress-free and wonderful experience. The manager, Tony, was very responsive to all our questions throughout the process, was involved in the planning and even helped serve meals the day of the event. He checked in with us occasionally on the wedding day to ensure we were happy and even helped clean up on the wedding day. He was friendly, organized and really helped alleviate any concerns we had throughout the entire process. The food and service was excellent on the wedding day and far exceeded our expectations. We had lots of room for all our guests to play games, dance or chat - whatever they wanted to do. We were also able to bring in any of our own decorations and table settings, as well as additions to the menu. We would highly recommend Abe Erb as a wedding or event venue!! Overall, more positive than negative here. But when it's an off day, it really stings to pay sometimes 30$ or more on a single dish that's just bordering on inedible due to flavour.”

The second picture is when I'm finishing it. As you can see, the insides fell, but that's because these guys tried stuffing my burrito, thank you, but the wrap never fell apart. 5 out of 5 for these guys. Although if I had ordered it through Skip The Dish, and didn't get a fork, the raking would be 4 out of 5.”

The pasta was cooked to perfection, and the sauce was so flavourful, but to our disappointment, the scallops were very tough. Our waitress went and had fresh scallops done for us, which were better but still really hard on the outside. Maybe it was just that batch of scallops. They didn't taste bad, but they were tough to get through. Our waitress apologized and discounted our dinners. To our delight, they brought out a plate of congratulations dessert with chocolate cake and blueberry cheese cake for my son and 4 forks to share. Overall, it was a fabulous dinner at a great spot, and I highly recommend Casa Rugantino. “I've been going to this pizza place for a while - I can confidently say it's become my go to choice when it comes to pizza.I usually just get a jumbo, or I go for the pizza and wings combo. They make a hot honey sauce for the wings that are surprisingly really good. The owner or the employee (I'm not sure who it is) has always been really awesome when it comes to making sure the order is done properly.In fact, there was one time where I forgot an ingredient on the pizza I usually get (hot peppers, bacon strips, and pineapple) that he actually let me bring the pizza back and he threw on extra bacon, and gave me free dipping sauces. He's the type of business owner where he respects the customer.”

Truth is, I sprained my ankle coming off a ladder and didn't want to tell him. We had our first date at Vijay's and 12 years later...still happy. Best food and really kind and attentive servers and owners. P.S. he found out about the ankle when he got home. We are definitely going to schedule another date night. Wonder how much cross contamination occurs with multiple deep fried items being fried in the same fryers over and over again. Too nosey for dining though. Understand it’s a road house but music is not conducive for dinner. Would be helpful if bar area had a noise proof enclosure for dinning only customers. Lunch time, game time, I get it. But dinner time more families dine and don’t need to be subject to bar noise. Not sure what this roadhouse is trying to achieve. Ambience can be testy @ best from time to time. They have great variety for Indian and hakka. Fruit punch ws refreshing to start or something warm like hot and sour soup is great option too. Honey chili potato and paneer choila for the starters is good choice. I really love their crispy chili beef dry, deep fried spicy calamar, tandoori chicken leg momo in butter sauce chilli chicken gravy or butter chicken with biryani and garlic naan. Deluxe hakka noodle was worth the try. Chaat papdi was also great. Thanks hakka aroma for the wonderful night. Would come back again.”
