Chez Elixir Reviews
We were a group that tried almost one of everything on the menu. Escargot, Caesar Salad, Lamb, Duck, Coq au vin, Scallops, a beautiful French wine and to finish Creme Brulee, Coffee and Cognac. It was all so good. The flavours were out of this world. And the service couldn't be better. I wish I remembered the name of the lady that served us. She was very well informed and very attentive. Our compliments to the chef for some amazing food.
What an unexpected disappointment! We were on a Tour de Gastronomie in Galt: A four-course dinner, each course with cocktails at a different establishment, our way of helping the local economy. We were initially inspired by the table settings: linen on linen with three-course cutlery and a wine glass. We were impressed with having been brought to a table by a mature waiter, not a teenager. Located in the heart of Belmont Village, Chez Elixir is a charming, warm, and cozy bistro with a relaxing atmosphere and lovely background piano music. The food is more than incredible, with the chef putting heart and attention to every detail. Meals are plated beautifully with lots of flavour. Menu highlights include the Caesar Salad, Confit du Canard, duck, escargot served with lots of dipping bread, Coquille St Jacques, lamb shank, Chilean sea bass, steelhead fish feature with purple broccoli and celeriac purée, boeuf bourguignon, and fois gras with a velvety and smooth consistency. For dessert, the pistachio and almond cake is perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and very delicate, alongside creme brulee. The service is amazing, excellent, and personable, with a perfect balance of checking in. The environment is welcoming, and the updated Elixir is gorgeous. There is parking out front and a few lots on Belmont. This hidden gem has been there seven years, and guests highly recommend it, planning to return.
