We very much enjoy setting and relaxing in this restaurant.
The staff are very friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu and always willing to make suggestions for something to try.

It was busy, and a little bit of a wait to sit down. But I had a chorizo hash bowl that was pretty good! Would go again.

We waited for our order for over 40 minutes (on a weekend morning) and it spoiled our first experience with this spot. Before that we had waited for the table and then for the server to bring the menus (so close to an hour of waiting). The food was fine, but certainly not worth this wait.

Mixed reviews about this place, although the food itself was excellent. The reason for giving 4 stars is the long wait time. We waited almost 30–40 minutes around 12 pm even though several tables were empty—they simply didn’t have enough staff to manage the guests. After being seated, it took another 40–45 minutes for our food to arrive. The food was worth the wait, but the service and overall ambience definitely need improvement.

What a wonderful breakfast! I’ve eaten at Darlise Cafe a few times over the years and have always been satisfied with their service and food. We stayed at the Walper Hotel across the street and decided to get take-out breakfast this time. This is way beyond a standard diner breakfast! From homemade strawberry jam, a delicious onion & potato roští (pancake) and a delicious breakfast sausage everything was amazing. Even the coffee was way better than a typical diner style brew. Overall, we look forward to the next time we are in Kitchener to have this delicious breakfast once again - well done!

Went there for lunch. Friendly service, Norwegian eggs Benedict was spot on! Potato pancake a tad too salty, but overall 10/10 a good place to get your breakfast/lunch

We had high expectations for this place but after waiting for over 40 minutes for our breakfast we left without trying the food. We were sat at 10:10, and by 10:55 we were still missing our meals, and had not even been offered a refill, and were not informed that our food was taking longer than expected.

The place was at half capacity when we ordered and stayed like that the whole time we were there.
We were not the only table waiting for food but it seems like we were the only patrons asking for our order, and the answer was 'You don't want to wait? There are other tables waiting!'.

Whoever manages a restaurant should warn customers when service is slow and the approximate wait for food, and let them decide. Maybe the food here is so good regulars don't care but for us, always trying new restaurants, it was a first and last.

This is a cozy café in the heart of downtown Kitchener, perfect for breakfast or brunch.
The food was fresh and tasty, with a couple of well-made vegetarian options that really hit the spot. The menu had a nice selection of dishes.

What made the visit even better was the service—the server was genuinely kind, attentive, and made us feel very welcome throughout.

The café has a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Not a huge fan of their interior, though, but their food hits a home run 🙌

Highly recommended if you're in the area and looking for a great breakfast spot with good food and warm service!
