I really wanted to like Darlise but I genuinely could not stomach whatever I ordered. I got the Darlise crepe. The hollandaise sauce was not hollandaise sauce, it tasted very off. Whatever you do, do not get their “potato pancake”, it is dry, flavourless and bland, a complete waste of space. The crepe itself was ok, but it was SO salty, not sure how to even eat this without calling for god. The ambiance and service is good.

We went to the Dalise for breakfast on Sunday around 11am, the waiting time was extremely long. We waited for about an hr for a table and another hr for the food. The food was overall good except the potato pancake was very salty.

Service was a little on the slow side, and the food was OK. The issue we had involved the discovery of a cockroach in my coffee, that was handled terribly. After quietly and politly pointing out the discovery, we were ignored for almost 20 minutes, until we were presented with the bill and informed that only our coffee was going to be comped. No apology offered. Will not be going back, and many other people who had expressed interest will never be going now.

Located right downtown, it took me way too long to finally try this spot—and I’m glad I did. They have a great selection of breakfast and lunch options, and the portion sizes are just right: filling without being overwhelming. I loved not being intimidated by a massive plate, yet still leaving completely satisfied. The French toast was phenomenal, and my wife’s crepes looked just as tempting. Definitely a place worth checking out.

I arrived around 1 pm for lunch. The waitress was knowledgeable about the menu items, she was cheerful, attentive without being intrusive. Great service. I took the Guilt Free eggs Benedict with the pistou sauce, it includes a side of fruit. It tasted great and the fruit was a good mix of fresh fruit, not the usual watermelon overload. A great lunch by myself.

We waited for our order for over 40 minutes (on a weekend morning) and it spoiled our first experience with this spot. Before that we had waited for the table and then for the server to bring the menus (so close to an hour of waiting). The food was fine, but certainly not worth this wait.
