Don Julio Tacos & Tequila Bar

Food and drinks were good but pretty expensive. Biggest complaint is the poor service. Took forever to put our order in and even longer to get our food. Server didn't come and ask us how the food was tasting, if everything came out ok, or if we needed any refills on drinks, etc. We had to ask a random server for our bill because it seemed like our server didn't even know we were there.

Wow. That is the singular word to describe our experience tonight at Don Julio. Not only is the food exceptional, but the margaritas are inventive and fantastic and the service was absolutely a stand out. Truly one of the best places for tacos and margaritas in the 519! It is a rare occurrence where we can't finish.. and Don Julio humbled us! What this restaurant shines at though is service: we felt welcomed immediately and the entire staff was friendly and took the time to talk ingredients and tequila choices and recipes. It made the entire experience really next level. We will absolutely be back. A lot.

Our waitress Olivia is amazing! Amazing recommendations and was honest about the food. Conversation with her were fantastic and really helped the ambiance!

They have a great selection of tacos and margaritas are delicious. First time I went service was a little bit better. We really enjoy the housemaid hot sauce that was not offered the second time around, but we asked for it and got it which in the end was fine.

Food was amazing! Cool vibe. Service was slow, but I was in good company. A little pricey for the portions.

I loved this place from the moment we stepped inside. The decor, the music, my coconut margarita, then my fish tacos. The taco shells were great and made on-site. Will order the platter next time!!

I stopped here for lunch with two other people while they had their Día de los Muertos special menu and really enjoyed the food. We shared some guacamole and yuca fries for starters and both were delicious. We all got pork tamales for the main course and absolutely loved it. It was so flavourful and cooked to perfection. I wish it was part of their regular menu because it was so good! I'll definitely be back to try other items from their menu.

I recently dined at Don Julio's and had the absolute pleasure of being served by Haley. From the moment we sat down, her energy and professionalism made the entire experience exceptional. She was incredibly attentive, ensuring that every detail of our meal was perfect without being intrusive. Haley made excellent recommendations, checked in at just the right times, and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy throughout our visit.

Her warm personality, combined with her knowledge of the menu, truly elevated our dining experience. It’s rare to find such dedicated and friendly service, and I can confidently say that Haley made our night memorable. If you're visiting Don Julio’s, make sure to ask for Haley — you won’t be disappointed!

This place is a new gem in the city. The margheritas taste like another round is needed and the tacos, forget about it. I've been there 4-5 times and never tried anything else on the menu.

This was by far our favourite restaurant in Kitchener while staying for a few days. Keep up the great work and tasty cocktails! Liam was our bartender and he was absolutely fantastic , knowledgeable and made us feel very welcome!! I’d give this place and the staff 10 ⭐️ if I could.

This place was very good. Very Authentic. I am not sure what people are saying about the food being bland. Equivalent of North Americans saying Italian food in NA is better then the authentic food in Italy (is my guess). The atmosphere here is solid, service was great. Definitely coming here again.

We had an amazing time coming in for their Tequila Thursday. We ordered some tacos which were made quickly and delicious. The cocktails were tasty. But the best part of all was Matt working behind the bar. He was so knowledgeable and kept giving us great suggestions on tequilas to try. I was so impressed by the selection but even more impressed by the service! Highly recommend.
