A great option for Spanish food in the region, especially if you're craving paella. While perhaps not the absolute best I've ever had, it is undoubtedly the best you'll find locally. Their paella is only served on Fridays and Saturdays and the recipe changes weekly. The tapas were fantastic and staff is friendly. PS: the space is small, so it's not ideal for large groups. Definitely make a reservation due to the limited seating

Great place for Spanish cuisine. The paella is their specialty with the type rotating each week. The seafood version is my favourite and is highly recommended.

Everything we had was extremely tasty! I’ve been wanting to try this place and had it bookmarked since they were in Cambridge, but never had a chance. So, I decided to come here for my birthday with a friend, and the service definitely shined in our experience. Our server was very attentive and was kind to keep my gift at the counter with her so that there would be space on the high table for our food.

Speaking of the food, we had gambas, and a chicken and seafood paella. The gambas was very tasty and had a perfect kick to it with a bit of spice. The sauce was so tasty that even though I normally tend to ignore the bread, we couldn’t stop dipping it in the sauce to eat!

The paella was kind of a letdown since this place seems to be known to serve authentic ones. Although the flavour was nice, it was a little too wet for what I was expecting, and there was absolutely no socarrat - a usual cherry-on-top of a perfect paella. For the price placed on it, one is led to believe that what you are getting will be perfectly authentic, and this made me feel like I was just eating chicken and seafood with overcooked, but nicely seasoned Spanish rice.

Everything else was so good though that I’m willing to give it another shot!

Always a lovely time here. Paella price is slightly steep but good for a special occasion. Only complaint is that the servers hair almost whipped into our food as it was long and she turned right where our high table was 😅 (that, and the high chair/tables are a bit tight). Food wise, it is amazing!!

Really good tapas. Small menu. Could have a few more options for bigger groups. Still really tasty and lovely wines.

This was my first time at La Tapas and it won’t be my last! Friends had recommended it as it is one of their favourite places to dine.
The owner and waitress were amazing making recommendations to us from the menu for first timers. Her recommendations were a 10/10!
The pictures of the food and the reviews in other reviews and posts are spot on. The paella was amazing as were the tapas we had. The Sangria and cheese cake were the best I’ve ever had!
This is a restaurant that you’ll want to check out. It’s a hidden gem in Kitchener-Waterloo.
