The food is outrageously good
Food is superb and definitely among the best Chinese food I’ve had in the region. Even tops Cameron. Service was pretty slow but we already expected that. So as long as you come in knowing that and with someone you can talk to until they serve your food, you’ll be fine.
We had: har gaw, pork shumai, spare ribs in black bean sauce, yang chow fried rice, and eggplant in oyster sauce with minced pork and we loved every single dish. Will definitely visit again.
Authentic Chinese food! What's the best way to tell how good the food is at a Chinese restaurant? Observe who the diners are! This husband/wife tag team run a very authentic Chinese food restaurant z complete with Dim Sum all the time. Not overly fancy with the plastic table cloths, but the food speaks for itself. Of course they offer traditional Canadianized chicken balls and egg rolls, but the real amazing dishes are the authentic ones the other Asian guests have on their table! Amazing food, great prices!
Don't have much dim sum choices. But the food is authentic. The place is a bit small, but the environment and services resembles that of Hong Kong
I can't believe I've lived just five minutes away from this place for the past eight years and only recently discovered it. What an incredible find! Hands down, this is the best Chinese food I've had in Kitchener.
The food is consistently fresh, hot, and perfectly cooked every single time. The flavors are outstanding, the portions generous, and the pricing is very reasonable and the service is quick and efficient!
While communication can occasionally be a bit challenging, the staff are always kind, courteous, and clearly do their very best. I’ve never had any issues with my orders—they’ve always been accurate and delicious.
This is a wonderful local business that truly deserves support. I highly, highly recommend giving them a try, you won’t be disappointed.
This was honestly my favorite experience at a family restaurant. Food was beyond delicious, service was fast and friendly, and the chef is super friendly and nice. Even the little girl they have there pointed my husband in the right direction to go to pay. Super wholesome place and we will definitely be going back :)
Excellent
Take out:
We had the Ginger Beef Calgary style. Dried up sweet crusts. No sign of beef. We threw it all out.
The Szechwan noodles with chicken- ok
Delicious food, comfortable low-key family friendly environment. Even helped us entertain our toddler. Incredible prices, definitely worth every penny. The value for the amount of food was the best I've seen in a long time. We will be back !
One of a few Cantonese restaurants in the region so I can’t be too picky about quality and atmosphere.
Food is tasty and is served quick and hot. Portions are ok but skimpy on meat and fillings.
Dim sum offers items not offered by the others in the region which is nice.
It’s a small restaurant run by a Cantonese speaking couple. Their kid is often sitting at a table by the counter watching her kid shows.
Restaurant is dark, drab and drafty so I would dress warm if dining on a cold day.
Restaurantji Recommends
Vegetarian friendly Exceptionally tasty vegetarian dishes that are very well priced. My favourite is deep fried bean curd, mixed veg with bean curd and amazing 4 veg with curry sauce. The service is very polite and kind. This is one of those gem restaurants where the food is authentic and veggies are super fresh, crispy and have amazing colour, texture and flavor. After the loss of China Garden restaurant, this has become my go for Chinese food
Went for dim sum, the staff was so lovely and the food was super fresh :)
Went for dim sum and it was the best in town.
Ordered Item # 5 Fried Crispy Wanton for $10.50 take out on a Friday . . . .what a rip off!! DO NOT ORDER!! I would leave no star if given the option. The crispy wanton is actually fried wanton wrappers without the filling. If I want crispy wanton wrappers, I can do it myself. The wanton wrappers only cost $2.00 at the Chinese grocery store. The menu should have stated clearly Crispy Wanton Wrappers. This is totally misleading and false advertising.
Got Sam’s Chinese Kitchen tonight.
No Chinese restaurant has come close to replicating the taste and texture of Cameron Chinese Restaurant Cantonese Chow Mein and let me just say Sam’s did not disappoint. I was shocked, it was really good. The shrimp rolls were 10/10 and I got steamed shrimp dumplings and they were filled with shrimps, they did not skimp at all with the portions. Chicken balls were good too but only downside was their sweet and sour sauce.
I will definitely order again, the staff was so friendly and definitely a mom and pop feel.
Thank you for the recommendation under my last post. Added a new favourite to my list.
