Stacked Pancake & Breakfast House Kitchener

Food was good. Service not so good. Also needs ventilation, my hair and clothing smelled of grease and food for hours after.

A really nice location. Small, but simple place to grab breakfast. Wenwere quite suprised by our visit the other morning. We decided to go over for breakfast, as it's close by and we hadn't been to this location before. When we entered, we were pleasantly suprised, not busy, no line up and no wait. So after we were seated, the server asked if we could order drinks. So we ordered a pop (which comes in a can) and then an orange juice. Not freshly squeezed or anything as we later found out. While waiting for our drinks, about 10 minutes or so a lare group got up, and began to speak very loudly about how terrible the service is, how long they had been waiting, how the staff just stand in the kitchen and talk. We began to wonder if they were just being obnoxious... or if they were onto something. After that ordeal, we continued to wait for our drinks. After about 20 minutes, I figured they had just forgotten our drinks. So I got up, and the server saw me and came right over "I know I know i know you have been waiting" she said irritated with me. I said sorry, I'm just wondering if it'd be possible to get our drinks? It's been 20 minutes. Then she blamed it on the loud customers... which only left 10 minutes after we ordered the drinks.

The food came out quickly, it tasted good, the food was fine. The cinnabun pancakes were amazing!!!

After we stsrt finishing our food, we find a curly black hair, on the plate, beneath the home fries. Neither of us at the table have curly black hair, so it couldn't have been from us. So we alerted a lady who was working there, she apologized and then gave us each a coupon to use on our next visit. But the best part, the coupon expired in 2 weeks! I couldn't believe it. You expect us to come back after spending $75 dollars to spend another 75 dollars in 2 weeks after a terrible dining experience. We left the coupons there. No thanks. We even had to pay for the food we didn't eat because of the hairs stuck to the plate.

Gross, unsanitary, and silly coupons.

Won't be back there. And I know, from hearing other upset customers... we're not the only ones.

We were greated quickly and offered a table beside the entrance. We asked for a different spot and we're offered the identical table on the opposite side of the entrance. We were hoping for a spot IN the restaurant where we might feel more comfy.
The server was very intent on taking our order and we had to ask to be given plenty of time. We were happy to be out together and were talking...not in a desperate rush for food! Our food came quickly after ordering, one meal was gluten-free, some of the sides didn't arrive until half the meal was eaten. Both meals were very good and we were given more time to enjoy before asked about receiving the bill. We paid and stayed at the table talking without being rushed to leave. There were very few people in eating. One server, may have been the manager, was very friendly and made a specific effort to ask how the meals were which we appreciated.

We will likely choose a different location next time. This just didn't feel cozy and relaxing for a relaxing brunch.

It's cozier then other Stacked locations I've visited. The kitchen is right in the middle of the restaurant, so you're never too far from the fast-paced atmosphere in it.

Most of what we ordered was undercooked (eggs and potatoes). The batter for the waffles wasn’t stirred enough as I got chucks of sugar crystals in my bites which was not enjoyable. Disappointed with the breakfast

Food was delicious. They may have been short staffed, but they dropped the food off and never came back. It was almost impossible to get someone’s attention as it was so busy and not enough staff.

I ordered the beef plate, but I can't recall the exact name. I had the waitress threw it out. The beef plate was too overpowering and greasy, and it wasn't appealing at all. The pancake was good, but it would be nice if it was served with some strawberry syrup on the side. The waitress was so inpersonable, looked like she would rather be elsewhere but work. She knew I didn't like the beef plate and did nothing to remedy it. Instead, I was charged, so of course I gave her no tip. Next time, I will try another location.

Food is great and so is the service! Unfortunately, there isn't a big enough lobby for the amount of people who wait. If you stand in the vestibule, it's freezing and smells like car fumes.

Love stacked but my go to location is Waterloo. Decided to try kitchener location. Ordered my usual to my surprise staff argued and said OWNER couldn't accommodate request.. Be nice to have the same experience but reason is different owners. So moral of the story, you want great food and customer service. Visit Waterloo location and don't bother with Kitchener.

One meal arrived way ahead of everyone else in our group. Other than that, we had a positive experience

Food was good, service was poor.
Wrong meals were brought to our table and dropped off. When we informed the staff member, they grabbed them and brought it to another table. We didn't do anything to the food but how could they know that we didn't.. Once we were given our food, no one came to check on us for the next 45 to 60 minutes until I flagged a waiter down for the bill.

If I had to guess, the table we sat at wasn't assigned to any particular server.

If you like eggs and pancakes that are as chewy as rubber and bacon that has been under a heat lamp for ours this is the place for you! Disgusting food and mediocre service.
