Definitely recommend The Tamale Girl! This was one of our stops on a walking food tour in Kitchener and the owner was very friendly - loved hearing the inspiration behind her food. I'd never had a tamale before and it was delicious! I will be going back for sure.

Had the nachos at the gluten free festival. They were so good that I had to look up the vendors that were there to find out where these lovely ladies are located! I look forward to coming in from Hamilton when I can!

I tried all the Mexican places in KW and this is the best. The meats here are all very flavourful and tender. The taco shells are nice and soft. The food here has a home made taste. I actually feel good after eating here whereas at some places, the food might taste good you feel kinda sick after. I would almost go as far as saying that this is one of the best Mexican food in Ontario (if not Canada).

One of my all-time favorite places to eat in the city. I've been eating here and keeping the frozen tamales well stocked in my freezer for many years now. You can genuinely taste the care and love that goes into her food. The mild chicken, beef brisket, and ground beef/pork ones are my go too order. And I'm obsessed with the green salsa! Super easy to heat up the frozen ones at home, too. Highly recommended, I promise you won't be disappointed!

Celiac safe!!

Two of my kids have celiac and there are not many places where we can eat. The owner spent 20 minutes talking with us, so that we felt safe eating the food and so we ordered. She takes great care in her food and such pride. We had them for lunch and then took some to go for dinner too!

The food is AMAZING!! I highly recommend The Tamale Girl!

Growing up as a mexican in Canada it's hard to find good tamales that aren't made by your family. They're either authentic, but frozen. Or not authentic, but made fresh.

Tamale girl fits into the second column. You can tell they are not mass manufactured, but homemade. But unfortunately both the cost, and the taste of the end product does not hold a candle to real tamales.

I'm super disappointed that it was not good, I've heard so much about tamale girl from non Latinos.

I went with my mom and partner and got some fresh Tamales and they were so yummy we immediately bought 6 more to take home frozen. She printed instructions for heating and when I called to ask about it she was more than happy to help. Fantastic food, fantastic service, and the frozen tamales tasted great at home.
