Nice pub with a great patio. Great daily specials. On the Wednesday we were there, wraps and bowls were the specials. There are TVs inside so we could monitor the Jays' game 😃

Very dissatisfied with our visit. My wife’s curry fabulous,my fish and chips terrible. Old oil over cooked ,couldn’t eat it.Got a reduced price but for a Friday night fish experience it wasn’t even close to being good.Coffee served warm. The booths seats need recovering.

Great small town gastro pub. My family and I came in on 25th Sep. Our host Jake, was super welcoming and provided great service. The food dishes were prepared fresh and tasted amazing. The broccoli soup was so good. Each dish stood out. The double Brie appy was so good. We had the Hot Honey sandwich, French Bird and the chicken club. We grew up in Lakefield and it was super nostalgic coming back to the old Hamblin’s after all these years. Definitely recommend and will be back.

I very much recommend the Canoe & Paddle in Lakefield. It's casual so perfect for the summer. Our waiter was funny and fast with our food. The sweet potato fries were really good. I paired some with the Nutty salad which is not about nuts but the chunks of candied salmon and other good bits in it. It was delicious and full of healthy greens. It looked small but it was perfect with the fries. We were hoping that the patio would have a view of the water but it doesn't. So not an attractive patio.

Always a great place to stop after a bike ride with friends. Service is always great and friendly, food is good too! They always seem to be busy, so dining in can be noisy (as most places are these days) but really only if you're seated next to a large group or just loud people! 😆 I'm happy just to get a seat, do I don't mind.
I stopped by today Tuesday Sept 16 2025 at 9:15 pm and the girl locked the door right in front of me. The website says open until 10 pm. Bad, bad, bad for business.

Canoe & Paddle was a good choice when looking for a pub that is open long hours. The inside and patio are cozy and offer small town vibes. I was happy that they offered a plant based option, but was slightly disappointed it was just a Beyond Meat burger (especially with a $2 upgrade fee). I would definitely be more impressed if they made their own veggie burger in house as I am sure they are more than capable of this judging by their other dishes. A nice place to visit, but would likely check out other options the next time I am in the area.

Stopped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the experience. Everything was very good from the staff greeting right through until we paid. Beer was cold and we found the food very good! Will be visiting again!

My friends and I went in for a late lunch/early dinner and we all enjoyed our meals. I ordered a chicken teriyaki stir fry and there was no problem having it made without onions and peppers. It was delicious. Also ordered were deep fried pickles, which were excellent, poutine and a nachos platter. Everything was perfect and truly delicious. I would highly recommend this place if you are ever traveling through Lakefield
