Tucked away along the waterfront, this restaurant delivered one of the most satisfying dining experiences we’ve had in a long time. The view alone is worth the visit — calm water, a gentle breeze, and a sunset that felt like it was made just for us. But the real star here? The food. I ordered the double bacon and triple cheese burger, and it was everything you want in a guilty pleasure meal: juicy, rich, and stacked high with perfectly melted cheese and crispy bacon that somehow didn’t overpower the burger. The bun held everything together without getting soggy — a small detail, but a game-changer. Every bite was a mix of bold flavor and serious comfort. My girlfriend went with the steak, cooked medium-rare, and it was spot-on. Tender, juicy, and seasoned just right — no fancy sauces needed. It came with a side of roasted potatoes and asparagus. Service was friendly and relaxed — not rushed, but always attentive. Whether you’re out for a date night or just want to treat yourself, this place hits the mark on food, vibe, and location. We’ll definitely be back.

TL;DR: Poor website design led to missed opportunity for an anniversary reservation. We were staying in the area for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary, and this restaurant came recommended by the resort we're staying at. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to make a reservation due to confusion caused by their website. When clicking “Reservation,” you’re asked to choose between “Hobarts Lighthouse” and “Hobarts Restaurant”—but there’s no explanation anywhere on the site about what the difference is. As first-time visitors unfamiliar with the area, this left us unsure which to choose, especially since we were hoping for a more intimate setting. We also sent a Facebook message on Monday (no response), but couldn’t call until the restaurant opened Wednesday afternoon. By the time we reached someone at 4:30pm, Saturday was already fully booked. Disappointing, as we’d tried to plan ahead. Strongly suggest updating the website with clearer information for out-of-town guests—it could make all the difference in someone’s special occasion plans.

Had a wonderful time and great food last night. Staff super friendly!! Everything was 10/10!! The loaded cheese bread is a must try delicious. We had Buffalo chicken sandwich, almond crusted maple glazed salmon and roasted pepper & garlic shrimp linguine everything was delicious. The watermelon mojito was a great choice to start off the evening very refreshing!! Beautiful views great staff definitely the place to go for a dinner out!!

Had reservations for tonight and was surprised to find out Hobarts decided to shut down for the season after taking the reservations with no advance notice given. While I can understand it’s a seasonal business in this area, it doesn’t bode well for customer service when these type of things happen and a group of six are not provided advance notification (by chance we called to reconfirm our reservation and the outgoing message advised they were closed for the season) and are left to find alternative arrangements at the last minute

One of the best waterfront restaurants in Ontario This is worth the drive for the view, the food, and the service If you have a boat or paddle board it’s a nice spot to dine after an outing on the water Highly recommend

Wonderful ambiance overlooking the harbour. Perfect setting for simple gathering or special occasion. Good assortment of entrees and beverage (wine list). Courteous service. Maple glazed salmon excellent as was the house specialty - Chocolate Pate.

Went there to celebrate our anniversary. The service was outstanding. The food was mediocre but the quantity was sufficient. The parking was a disaster. It was on a very steep slope and being seniors with mobility issues we found ourselves having difficulty getting to the steps with a trench like area on both sides of the road. Other than that we had a great day.

We recently celebrated our anniversary at a lakeside restaurant, where we encountered several issues with the food and service. Despite the high cost of the meal, we were disappointed with the quality of the dishes. The seafood jambalaya was excessively salty, the Swiss onion soup lacked flavor, and the Caesar salad with blackened chicken was overcooked and dry. The appetizer, which was the special of the day, was the only satisfactory dish. It appeared that the restaurant was short-staffed, which may have contributed to the problems we experienced. Nevertheless, we were dissatisfied with the overall dining experience, especially considering the special occasion we were celebrating. As a result, we have decided to forgo dining out for future anniversaries and instead prepare a special meal at home. We plan to purchase a couple of beautiful lobster tails from a seafood store and cook them ourselves, creating a more enjoyable and memorable anniversary celebration.

Ordered the penne pesto chicken Alfredo and it was not great. For the price of $29 I was given what can only be called a side of pasta. The sauce was not flavourful, the chicken looked like pre cooked chicken strips. Garlic bread was slightly toasted on one side and nothing special. The service was good and the location was nice. Just overpriced food and not that great for what you pay for.

We're very fortunate to have a restaurant like this on Stoney Lake. Food and service are superb, and the view from the enclosed deck is fantastic. Worth trying, definitely recommended.
