This morning I sold a gentleman bags of ice. (The fishermen always buy lots of ice) I asked are you a fisherman? He replied “yes, I’m a professional fisherman I own captain Mark’s fish and chip truck”, and invited me to check it out. So this morning I sold the fisherman his ice. And this evening I visited the fish and chip truck, he was at the food truck and made our fish and chips. Must be Captain Mark! I love it! Kinda randomly found this spot and was very pleasantly surprised. It's run by a family of firefighters so it's just something they do on the side Fri-Sun, but there is real skill and care here -- can tell that all the elements in each dish is thoughtfully and competently, from the excellent breaded pickerel (caught fresh nearby regularly) with homemade tartar sauce, a really nice burger with the charred bun, and one of the best poutines I've had in awhile. Super fresh with light and crispy batter and awesome chips. Spectacular lake view and Mark is one of the nicest and most accommodating people I’ve met. Worth the drive but please verify his hours as Google times may be off. A great selection at a reasonable price.
