What a gem.. you wouldnt expect to find a gem like this, in this neighbourhood. Excellent service. Excellent selection... and excellent value for your dollar... in this day and age when giant coffee corporations dominate the coffee scene. Its refreshing to have a place like this.. good job

Best iced latte in London. Cosy vibe and lovely staff! Amazing baked goods!!!!!

Loved the whole atmosphere, didn't mind spending a little more for a drink as I would rather support local businesses who also support other local businesses. Will go again.

This place has hands down THE best cup of coffee and espresso in the city. The owner is one of the more personable people i have met. She really goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. The decor inside is cozy and welcoming as well. Definitely recommend.

My husband and I visited Backroads for the first time a month and a half ago. The space is fairly energetically pleasing, to the eye. However, it was rather cramped and there wasn't much privacy, as in the next table was very close and could definitely hear your entire conversation.

Delicious drip coffee - the best way to enjoy it black. Can't wait to come back. Booch here is great too!

I almost didn't realize this was the same place that I visited a couple of days ago - serious design change! I wish I had taken some photos to show you! The short: Coffee and service was good, but I wasn't crazy about their snack selection (but good for vegetarians!). Ambiance was very casual, lots of plants, great place to read a book or quietly browse/work. The nitty gritty - okay so its super casual and lived in looking. Lots of plants in random pots, plants are wilin' out of control, very au naturel, great. Some high seats, one long bench with small tables so you can still meet with one other person or multiple, if you wanted. It was super quiet when we went, there were a few people working and reading. Music was chill. I think there's free wi-fi? I really enjoyed my coffee, but the food menu did not entice - but I'm sure that's just a personal taste. Lots of vegetarian options (i.e. tofu scramble). They had some scones, muffins, bagels, etc. Service was excellent, the ladies were so nice. I could see myself coming back here to read a book and drink coffee, and share with a friend who likes tofu!

Sarah and Emily are the best! Very passionate and educated. Prices are always very reasonable and everything is always fresh and ready to serve! Located in the heart of Old East, I would absolutely recommend coming in and enjoying a coffee here!
