I ate the best shawarma of my life here. Chicken: moist and large pieces of real meat. Pita: chewy and fresh as can be, very impressive. Hummus: added olive oil. Very generous portions! Barakat is a gem that doesn't fall victim to greed and expand beyond its means. They keep the operation small to manage quality, and it pays off. Highly recommend eating in their restaurant instead of take out.

I have been enjoying Barakat's delicious food ever since they opened their original location in downtown London in the early 2000's. Their current spot by the university is nice and bright, and best of all, closer to where Iive. For my money, these guys have the best shish tawook, their rice is delicious, and their hummus is exceptional! I have never had a bad meal from here. Highly recommend!
